We had not planned to go and see this Statue, but on our visit to the Space Museum, we could not help but see it as this impressive statue towers over the surrounding area (but not as much as the Monument above the Space Museum!)....More

The entire area has so many things to see and this is just one of them. You could spend the whole day there and not see everything. Fantastic tribute to the workers.

This statue was originally built for the Paris world's fair. It was situated directly across the main plaza (across the river from the Eiffel tower) from the imposing and slightly taller swastika-topped column of Nazi Germany's pavilion. The worker and kolkhoz woman's defiance is awesome...More

You can hardly find better depiction of what USSR was and how it saw itself. Gigantic statue, made almost 80 years ago, is still one of the most magnificent ones in Moscow. Simply because of the size, if nothing more. Especially imposing at night. If...More

This was a definite highlight of my trip to Moscow. It's a huge structure and its lighting during the night is truly impressive and gives you a taste of soviet/Stalinist marketing.
