There are churches - there is nothing wrong with them and they do contain the odd interesting items (guarded by the descendants of Olga Kleg). The cannot compare with St Petersburg.

Inside the Kremlin, Cathedral Square has 5 churches. The church of the Assumption is quite nice inside....but really if you've seen one church, you've seen them all.

Included in the price of admission to the Kremlin, you are permitted to enter the Cathedrals within. We went in three, and were we surprised by how beautiful, yet different they all were. No photos permitted inside.

Visited Cathedral square on a Friday morning. It was busy but well worth the time and effort. It was amazing, and truly a photographic moment you very rarely have. I would recommend to everyone.

We were fortunate to witness the weekly Saturday horse parade with solders in their handsome uniforms. Only one of the churches were open, but it was very gilded. The square is just as pretty as seen in brochures.

This small yet important neighbourhood is full of
state institutions and offices. To understand where
modern Russia began, go to the Kremlin and State
Historical Museum on Red Square. After satisfying your
historical curiosities, indulge in modern pleasures at
GUM Department Store - not just for the sake of
shopping but for the sake of architectural pleasure as
