We went with Ana a paid guide as part of a Kremlin tour We could have spent more time there if we didn't a have a paid guide but we had seen a lot of churches by this stage so the 15 minutes was enough to warm up

This is one of the churches located within the Cathedral Square. It may look as impressive from the exterior compared too the other church in the Square but it is definitely worth a visit inside the church.

This cathedral looks wonderous from a distance with it's towering golden globes but up close it looks rather worn. Inside though is different and is beautifully decorated and charming.

Huge church with impressive towers inside the Kremlin in cathedral square. Used by the czars for worship and weddings. Get a brochure inside to describe what you are seeing

An incredible piece of religious architecture, so amazing external deco in the Kremlin Cathedral square. Impressive outside but even more impressive inside. A masterpiece of history, architecture, religious paintings and spirituality. Very crowded though

Another beautiful Church on the Cathedral Sq inside the Kremlin, but purposely built for Russian Tsars and aristocracy. The majority of them were christened and married here. Therefore you could assume that biggest names in architecture and art worked on it, such as Pskov and Rublyev. The last one is also buried here. Frescoes inside take your breath away, but... More

The cathedral has a long history beginning in 1291. Fast forward. A fire destroyed the cathedral in 1547 during the reign of Ivan the Terrible and it was rebuilt and restored in 1563-64. Artist Andrey Rublev decorated the church with icons and murals. The floor of the cathedral is paved with agate-like jasper. A beautiful cathedral and not to be... More

One of the churches of the Cathedral square in Kremlin. This one served as a almost private place of worship for tsars and highest royalty. Some of the paintings were made by famous frescoe artist Andrey Rublev. At the entrance you can take very informative handout, avaliable in many languages, free of charge.

One more brilliant sacred building, we've seen here in the Cathedral Square. It is a little bit smaller than two others we saw before. It is located on the southwest side of Cathedral Square near the Borovitskaya street. This cathedral is a Russian Orthodox church dedicated to the annunciation for the Virgin Mary of the incarnation of Jesus. This edifice... More
