They only allow 20 people every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to pay 1300 rubles to have a one hour visit to the theater. We got there 45 minutes before they open and even then we couldn't get in. If you really want to visit, prepare...More

The venue was smaller than expected considering today's standard. However, it was glorious. Pay attention to your ticket. There are several entrances. The door number will be on the ticket. There was appropriate security in place to feel safe. Be prepared to surrender your coat...More

This is just a legend! Beautiful decor with red and gold, very classic and classy - just what an opera house should be. Excellent acoustic of course and good view from most of the seats. Book yourself for world class ballet or opera performance when...More

We attended a performance of the ballet at the Bolshoi, it was amazing. We are not ballet attendees but found the experience to be fantastic, the ushers were friendly and helpful in finding our way around the venue. The museum is well worth a visit....More

The Bolschoi-Theater is very very beautiful inside and the performance on the stage is even more impressive. The theater is not without any reason so famous for its ballet.

This is a beautiful classic theater. We sat in the 3d balcony and were not disappointed by the ability to see the stage. And, the ballet was out of this world. It was well worth the trip

Backstage tour is well worth the price and the wait. They only take 15 people in both an English & Russian tour at 11am, and by 9:30 people were lining up. If you're not in line by 10, you have little chance during the summer...More

What a thrill. An awesome theatre! We got tickets - very reasonable, and saw a performance from the company and students. The skill level from some of the dancers was amazing and the energy level was fantastic. There was a toilet right outside our 2nd...More

It has been a cold spring in moscow. We waited outside the theatre for an english tour. Although it was cold the folks in the lineup made the time go fast. You are allowed to take as many pictures as you like. The only time...More

We saw "The Golden Age" ballet at this theater. I am not a ballet officionado, but loved this. The second act was much better than the first. Just felt how could you be in Russia and not see the ballet.

Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first
glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long
street populated with well-known shops and brands. But
it’s more than shopping that makes this place
interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running
parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just
behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy

Regarding the Bolsoi Tour: so if I understand correctly, there is just ONE English tour per day (on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), and only for 20 people?

That's correct, and you have to get the ticket on the day. No tours on public holidays.

Hi, I have bought tickets to see a ballet that has starting time 7pm in the New Theatre, and says Presented with one interval, Running time: 2 hours 5 minutes. I presume we will try and eat afterwards.. any tips on how long to leave to collect coats and get out and if the 2hrs 5mins includes the interval? Would I be safe booking a table nearby at say 9.30pm? Thanks!

I think you should be able to collect the coats within 15minutes, no serious delays should be expected as far as I remember.

Some of the operas on the theatre's official website said "Adults Only". Does that mean children are not allowed?
