I really like this place. You can both relax and enjoy some historical monuments there. The park is really huge and it will take you a lot of time even just to walk and try to see it all.

Catherine II's Great Palace built in 1785-1796 was unfinished when she died and her son, the Emperor Paul I, ordered construction to stop. The building had a roof but no interior and no furniture and was destined for two centuries of desolation, becoming a rather picturesque ruin. The Moscow government reconstructed the palace in 2005-2007 and it has become an... More

One of the best places in Moscow (after the Kremlin) to feel and understand the Russian top ruling powerful people - tsars. Renovated and absolutely incredible pice of architecture art shows the power of the monarchs in Russia and can explain the now to some extend.

Many years ago we used to live nearby. it is a wonderful park which is good for a visit in any season - in winter one can go tubing down the hill or skiing or under-ice fishing; in summer one can take a boat or simply enjoy walking along the shadow alleys or along the lake coast. There are galleries... More

Nice place to visit if you have time, unfortunately the halls were closed to visitors when we visited cause they had some play going on. Wasn't as exciting a visit when I realized that most of its architecture were a remodel as the original was destroyed

I was absolutely surprised by seeing such a quiet but large park. It's 5 stops by metro from center of Moscow and then you are at place which doesn't remind you of busy life style.. No signs. Loved huge park, peaceful, well taking care areas; you can find places to hide by water or just walk around. Stunning. Then you... More

To me this is by far the best park in the city. It has everything a park needs to have: park and forest, trees, beautiful fountain and lakes. And it's not overcrowded with shops and kiosks. The territory is huge, and there are places you can sit or lie down for a rest, or just run around with your kids,... More
