This tourist attraction provides not only the beautiful landscapes but also the northern cuisine, guided excursions. You may even participate in the festival, ride the horse sledge. In some museum's rooms or houses you may observe the style of life of northern peasants and merchants. Don't forget to have tea with fishpies in a cosy cafe. In summer you may gather... More

It is a nice village of authentic korelean hourses, windmills and impressive churches on a huge area. It took us around an hour to explore. It really made our day.

It really depends on your interest. It is an incredible museum, with unique structures and landscape. Unfortunately, if you go on your own most of it is only in Russian. But, they have people in the more important buildings to explain their importance and how awesome they are. I also took the bus there, and it was a great experience... More

Even though I live in Arkhangelsk for over 20 years, but regularly-at least twice a year to visit family and this wonderful place! Nature, fresh air, beauty, great holidays and excursions.

Extremely boring. "Here is an old house, this is where they slept, this is where they cooked. Here is an old church. It had two floors."

Best and biggest wooden architecture museum in Russia with wonderful personnel. Especially recommend Ekaterina Kolpakova as an excursionist- exceptional knowledge, skills, education and intellect, simply one of the best excursions I've ever experienced worldwide

Vast territory, many exibits or wooden houses, wind mills, churches, barns etc. These exibits were collected from Arkhangelsk region and carefully installed here. Give at least 3-4 hours for this museum, it's worth it!

the Soviets did one thing right in the region - they saved old buildings by bringing them to the museum. It is a truly fantastic place to explore history, especially, if you are into architecture.
