This triumphal arch, which stands on the city's southbound Moskovsky Prospekt, was built between 1834-38 in memory of Russia's victory in the 1828-29 War with Turkey. This is strictly a ride by. The Gate does present an impressive gateway into the Imperial capital. Free

Well the gate is a gate, it is triumphal... without reading a history about this building you would not be interested at all, I honestly do not understand these buildings everywhere, except Rome :D

They are pretty. Not worth a stop since you will usually pass them on the way to and from the airport. The do make a grand entrance to the city.

This sightseen is a sightseen only for Petersburg citizens. The author of this gate tried to made monument as a triumph gate in Paris. But he`s failed!
