Not many Lenins left!

Not many Lenins are left, bit this site is just too historical. Ideal quick stop if tour are doing a metro tour anyway, or if you have to be at the Finland station.

Naturally, there are so many monuments and statues to and of Lenin in Russia, but this one distinguishes itself with one date, so important for the people of Russia and then coming a new state of Soviet Union. On this very spot in 1917, the father of the October Revolution, Lenin, got off the train which returned him from the... More

Iconic statue of Lenin at Findlandsky station, where he arrived from exile in 1917. Sense of history is palpable here and along with the Spilled Blood, will be my abiding memory of St Petersburg.

These statue was one of the things, which brought me to Petersburg, former Leningrad. Terrible, that due to egoistic revisionism the CCCP broke down.

This statue is truly symbolic for anyone who takes an interest in world history. This is where it all began for Lenin, arriving by train in 1917. Stand here and turn back time. If you are in St Petersburg, you simply cannot miss the opportunity to relive history. The statue itself is not the important thing, it is standing in... More

This is THE spot where Vladimir Lenin stepped off the train at Finland Station on 3 April 1917 to start the October Revolution http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_Revolution. The statue is not particularly spectacular, and I would not categorize it as a must see, but the spot does have historical significance and one really ought to see one Lenin statue in Russia.

I'm really wondering why these numerous statues of Mr.Lenin are still standing here and there. This statue is located on a historical place: when Lenin came back to Russia before the October Revolution 1917 he made a speech standing on the turret of an armoured car. I wouldn't call this place interesting for a Russian. Anyway if you want to... More

It is Lenin that for sure, the place is in Lenin purposes also historically so it goes together. The statue has in the meantime be exposed for a few cases of vandalism, a few times there has been, so to speak, blasted the bottom out of Lenin, strange it was looking 'Lenin without underpants'.

This was the only statue of Lenin I actually saw in St Petersburg, altho there was a small bust of him in a corner of the Metro Museum on the floor (an attendant said it was a gift, and they didn't know what to do with it. . .)
