Entry is free to this must see historical cathedral. The paintings on the walls and ceilings are spectacular. It's also nice to escape the cold winter and get some warmth inside. Everything is in Russian so if you need English explanations or history you would need a guide. We admired the cathedral without a guide.

Small but interesting interior with icons and painted walls and ceiling. The painted dove holding the chandelier is a nice touch.

Peter and Paul Cathedral is the largest church of Kazan. It is divided into upper and lower Parish(below for baptized tatars). The most important and the most interesting is the upper parish. Very rich decoration inside, a large iconostasis. It will be interesting to see and antiques lovers and believers.

With the impressive decoration on the exterior walls of the cathedral, sticking out from among other buildings walking on certain streets of Kazan, the Cathedral lures you in like a magnet. Getting closer allows you to see it even clearer how great and magnifiscent this building is with its extraordinarily rich decoration on the walls. Stepping inside both downstairs and... More

This church is fine, the inside was ok. To reach the front entrance you had to climb quite a few steps. Therefore a little hard for elderly's, it is free to enter and they supply head scarves if you don't have one with you.

Both the exteriors and interiors are equally impressive and distinctive as compared to the other cathedrals in the city. Quite spiritual feeling if you spend some time inside. However need to climb a few steps - worth going.

It's not located next to all the main sights but it's certainly worth a small detour. It's marvelous both outside and inside! Beautiful paintings on the walls and gorgeous decorations. Probably, the best church we've seen in the area. Just a pity that the cathedral doesn't have enough resources to keep up the maintenance.

Very interesting discovery of this nice church, with a beautiful view on Kazan and externally decorated with nice paintings and colors. Inside a classical Orthodox Church with nice golden icons and decorations.
