A tremendous place that makes everyone understand the sacrifice the people of Russia made during the WWII and why the memory of those events is still so important for Russians.

You will get some idea of the loss in victory of the Soviet people. The statues are magnificent; the sacrifice monumental.

A truly magnificent memorial site! We spent around 3 hours there. I have never seen anything like it. This is one of the things that has to be experienced. You can look at tons of pictures - but it is nothing like standing there yourself.

These are visited at the same time with Mamayev Kurgan. One would ascend several hundred steps to reach a long tree lined walkway and then couple of ponds and statues. There are sombre music playing and occasional sounds of gun fire to simulate the atomsphere...More

Moving statue of mother Russia and all the pain of Stalingrad in WWII. Looks similar but on much small scale to the Mother Canada status in Vimy Ridge France.

Another monument depicting the pain and suffering for all people directly or indirectly involved in systematic destruction of mankind through war, terrorism, etc. Monuments are for the eyes, peace we have to find in our hearts.
