You should not miss this attraction. The building is lovely and it tells some interesting history stories about Hokkaido. The park is just lovely to stroll around. Entrance is free It is closed on weekends.

This was recommended as an attraction for visitors and coaches of tourists flooded this site even in a cold day. I am probably too old to find this an attraction anymore after been to so many grand buildings.

Very interesting event to see during the same time as the Sapporo Snow and Ice Festival. Located on the grounds of the Former Hokkaido Government Building. This 30 minute presentation is done with laser lights projected onto the building. It is accompanied with music and...More

Had a very interesting museum inside with multiple exhibits and easy to understand, most was in Japanese but there was a lot of English available and the night-time light show is very interesting lasting for approximately 15 minutes but is well worth it.

Visited in June 2017. Interesting place to learn about Hokkaido history and appreciate the vintage architecture. The grounds were simply beautiful, with flowers everywhere. It was also peaceful to walk by the pond.

Went for a look round the building during the day time and there was quite a lot to look at and read although not everything has English translations. In the evening there was a light show on, in conjunction with the city's snow festival, which...More

It was snowing and the entire place was white. Go around 9am to avoid the crowd and get good shots. Expect to spend around 15 mins there. Worth the walk.

The building itself is not really wheelchair friendly. It is an old building with staircases. A short stroll at the garden would be good though.

Budy I was there in January. It is winter time so everything is covered with snow. Not sure about the Cherry blossom in May though.
