Stroll along this Maruyama Koen during winter was truly an unforgettable experience. The snow was very thick that we hardly walk through it. And yet my children were so happy to play on the snow, sit and sleep on the fluffy snow. Making pictures was so fun as well as playing around the park.

One of the places that you may experience Hanami during spring.. there will be stalls selling local street foods such as okonomiyaki, yakisoba, grilled calamari, takoyaki, dorayaki.... and draft beers! It was a unique experience for my group of friends and i to savour the street foods and fresh beers under the sakura trees! After the Hanami experience, you can... More

We went to the park on our way to the shrine on a Sunday. Lovely place that isn't too crowded and you get lovely view of the snowy landscape. There were people jogging, taking their dogs for a walk and children playing in the snow. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Maruyama station and it's pretty easy to... More

I like the greenery and forest-like park. Very refreshing but I was chased by lots of mosquitos. Mood spoiled.

my most memorable time in sapporo was in the maruyama park . Being spring time it was surreal to walk in the woods with cherry blossoms blooming all around. The path to the park and the exit has some beautiful houses and some of them had great views of the park. It was start of the golden week but the... More

Sadly, it was raining when we went on June afternoon. Our main aim was to visit the Hokkaido Shrine located within the park and since it was raining, we did not exactly stop and enjoy its scenery. It is a popular park among locals too as we saw numerous Japanese kids playing baseball (yes, in the rain!). Do be aware... More

My 1st Self-drive (F&E) tour. My 1st visit to Japan. We went to Maruyama Park for a morning walk. You can choose to cut through this park where you are visiting Maruyama Zoo and Hokkaido Shine. This is a nice park during this season. We saw lots of little children dancing in the park.

We walk through this park on route to Hokkaido Shrine. It is well established park with lots of interesting objects scattered around. Maruyama Zoo also lacated in one end of this park. I really enjoy the walk.

We went twice to the park in our 3 day visit. It was peaceful and so green. We went almost during the end of Sakura season and hence there were only some trees that we could spot. But there were beautiful tulips of many colors. On Sunday afternoons, you could see locals playing and having a picnic there. Pick up... More

Expect to walk in this place with nice ozone, quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately, there was many people come to picnic.. They grilled meats, drinks, loud chat and it was smell smoky around. During way to shrine, there also have many street foods both side of walkway. It look so busy around and there are few Sakura blossom. Anyway, there are... More
