It's not the most exciting of tourist spots, but my friends and I really enjoy beer so this beer museum was in our to-do list early on. It's relatively small and we opted for the self-guided tour. We walked there and arrived at about 6pm. The building is beautifully lit when we got there (it was already dark) and was... More

I was anticipating actually watching the beer making process, unfortunately it is just a (small) museum with some history and facts on the Sapporo Beer brand. The positive note is you can get a sampler with 3 types of beer for 600 yen at the end, which is quite affordable for beer in Japan, so we each had two to... More

We did the self-guided tour, which takes you through several floors of the main building. You don't tour the factory, or see beer being made, which is why we rated this a three. Compared to the Yoichi Whiskey factory tour, this was not as engaging for kids nor as interesting for adults. It's basically a history tour. On the plus... More

If you are a beer lover, this a place for you. Besides of the museum, there is a mongolian grill restaurant, with a great variety of beers.

We went for the free museum tour. I'd say it's good enough. It shows the history of Sapporo Beer. At the entrance floor of the museum, there's a bar where you can order Sapporo Beer approx 200 yen. There are 3 type of Sapporo Beer + 1 non alcoholic beer. I ordered the tasting beer, you got all 3 selections... More

We went early to self tour the museum and taste the 3 different types of beer for 600 yen shared by 6 people. A sip each. Then we went for our reserve booking for "All-you-can-eat buffet" at Trommel Hall. Realized they have different halls at different premises at one location. We enjoyed ourselves with the fantastic buffet choices of food... More

We had a visit here of a bit over an hour and opted to self guide through the free areas rather than take the paid guided tour. The buildings are quite magnificent and the history of the brewery a microcosm of Japan's modernisation in the nineteenth century, in this case using the expertise of a German brewer. There was adequate... More

If you are into beer and beer gardens, especially Japanese beer, this is a must see. It is a little out of the way so you will need to take a bus or drive here. I love Japanese beer so it was a real treat.

it's nice to have the original buildings protected, and the free visit to the museum is nice, if not exactly time consuming. The "Genghis Khan" dinner of cook-it-yourself meat and veggies is filling and the plastic apron a good idea. I suspect meals require reservations, at least for groups.
