Temple located in a big park. 15 mins walking from entrance of the park to the temple. Very beautiful.

We walked from the train station to the Hokkaido Jingu. It was a great walk, full of interesting things to see on the way. The trees heavy with snow looks lovely. Breathtaking in winter.

People come here to pray for something like luck. It seems to be their tradition. You can buy some wood or papper palette, write your wishes on it and hang on indicated places. There are many nice traditional porcelain statue such as Maneki Neko ^^ It is within Maruyama Park which is very beautiful one to wander.

The entrance to the park is a 2-minute walk from the nearest subway station, and the main shrine is another 15-minute walk through a tranquil cedar forest. It was icy in places, so wear appropriate footwear!

This makes a gorgeous stroll through thick layers of snow with the peaceful surroundings and the beautiful landscape and sense of peace prevailing. BEAUTIFUL! One of my favorites during our Sapporo trip. Would highly recommend. Lots of walking and lots to see around the shrine as well. Beautiful winter wonderland. It was breathtaking. I would say dress warm and go see!

A few yakuza henchmen there buying their new year gifts made the trip a little more memorable. Also watching the Shinto priest bless newly registered cars was a little different. Best of luck to the new cars.

Not as grand as the temple in Tokyo but I felt its worth taking a stroll there and feel the zen-ness. There are mini eateries outside of the temple

Like any other shrine in Japan, but this one has a lot of things to see. Despite the common thing we know about the Shrine, the shrine is beautifully built and the environment is peacefully.

Please prepare to take a long walk. Zoo is next to it. Holiday had extremely huge amount of people visiting there. Can try cutting across this the park from subway to the shrine. Amulet for sale are available
