This place became must-see list, because biggest shrine in Hokkaido. I went in early November, and snowing just started. The outlook of shrine is great with snowing. You can observe the local cultures. It was Cultural Day of Japan. A lot of parents brought their kids with nice transitional dress.

Hokkaido Jingu near my apartment (I rented for 5 days) 6 minutes Maruyama station (subway). It is in the park. That is very peaceful.

Unlike those famous shrines that are always packed with tourist, the shrine is quiet and peaceful. When we were there, there is some religious ceremony going on, and we got to see the shrine maidens dressing in their traditional attire, it's really an amazing experience!

A great place to see Japanese culture, however not as big as I imagined. And they are selling Japanese plum wine and Sakura tea that were made in shirine. Really nice as a gift/souvenir.

Beautiful setting. Much more "genuine" than the larger, more crowded Meiji Jingu I'm Tokyo. The warm mochi which was sold on the grounds was very good, and very reasonable at 100 yen each. With that, you got fee hot tea.

Our family wanted to take a stroll around the city so our guide suggested we visit Hokkaido Jingu. It's filled with magnificent trees and was perfect for refreshing ourselves. Felt good to breathe in the fresh cold autumn air! Recommended if you like walking out in nature but don't have time for a real hike.

As stated. The 100yen fortune paper in Japanese temple was fun too. The site hasn't been decorated by season change yet, but still very comforting while visiting.

Just a quick visit to the shrine during late afternoon. Good place to know more about Sapporo and Hokkaido. Liked the walk through the park to the shrine too.

We visited on a summer day and the nature was lovely. It was so nice to be in a wooded area. We took the metro and it was a little difficult to find - if you are in a hurry, a taxi might be better than trying to walk. It was not crowded and so peaceful.

Its worth to visit the temple however you only have 40 mins FREE car park. After 40 mins you'll need to get out of here or to pay parking fees. Its very peaceful and good scenery surrounding the temple, worth of visit!
