We all loved this cultural treasure. The grounds were immaculate and breathtaking. A zen like peace fills your heart when you walk around.

There are some beautiful trees along the walk from the parking lot to the buildings. Be careful to keep right leaving or you will miss the way back.

I really needed the time and space to sink into the power and history of Shinto and this was the perfect place to learn. It was a relaxing afternoon, with a little fall chill in the air. Give yourself time to walk and reflect.

Hokkaido shrine is located in Maruyama Park, a 10-minutes’ walk from Maruyama station. Good architecture, and the surrounding is very tranquil, peaceful. A nice place to visit and to see Japanese culture. We witnessed a traditional wedding ceremony going on when we were there.

Try to be there early! I was there about 0730L, not much people, but shortly after 8am start to have big tour group arriving. It's a very lovely and beautiful Shrine. Worth dropping by for a visit. Omamori (Japanese Amulet) are also sold here.
