Herbs are herbs, not much special.(It is just my opinion) However the view from this the top of mountain is great. If you have time, try their cable car in the air for time saving. Otherwise you also can walk up and down a nature trail in this mountain.

Still like the place despite not much flowers in winter. The Glasshouse is good. Get a cup of coffee and slice of cake, enjoyed that in the indoor garden, full of flowers....so relaxing, looking over Kobe City view.. Walk down from upper ropeway to Middle Ropeway to catch the gondola, great experience. Grab a good pair of shoes though..:-)

From the top you can surely enjoy the very best view that Kobe can offer. The rope way is really fun and at the same time you can enjoy a clear view of the city. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the best of the garden, because in February there is almost nothing to see.

Even though it was winter and not many flowers and plants to be seen, it was a very enjoyable trip. Great view from the top and the way down. Very nice tea, cake and ice-cream in the glasshouse cafe

It was winter, no leaves on the trees. It rained at the time we were there. And since it was close to the end of the day, not many staff were there. The weather plays a crucial part on this one. The best season is maybe fall?

I grew up in Kobe and we used to go to the Kobe Herb Gardens as children. As an adult it's just as fun! You take the ropeway up the mountain and get to a beautiful garden (it would be fun to go in all 4 seasons; in Spring it would be full of sakura and blooming flowers and in... More

great place to hike up the garden and enjoy one of the largest herb gardens in Japan. You can even take Shin-kobe ropeway halfway till the garden's lower entrance and then hike up from there. the view of the city from top is mesmerizing. this is certainly worth a visit if you are visiting Kobe.

Our family of 5, ages 12, 8 and 5, enjoyed riding the gondola up to the upper station of the gardens. We had some snacks and smelled the numerous essential oils available. There is a nice foot bath outside the glasshouse at the middle station. Beautiful view of the city.

A beautiful and peaceful place. Not many people when I visited on a weekday. There's a free hot foot bath area but pls bring your own small towel. It seems too hot so I didn't try it. The herbal cookies that were on offer were delicious. I especially love the lavender cookies - the smell is so strong & wonderful.... More
