Located in the outskirts of Kyoto on a hill. This is a Unesco World Heritage site. It is an impressive Buddist temple because it is built right upon a hillside, so it has spectacular views of the valley. Beautiful! Popular for tourists and locals. One...More

If you have the luxury of time, to walk through the temple during daylight and night time, do so. It is not to be missed. However, the main hall is currently closed for renovations until march 2020.

Great location, where there is a fantasitc overview of Kyoto. In the fall season a real "Indian Summer" in Asia, colourful and breaktaking.

The place is currently under renovation and you can still walk around most buildings, but the outside of most buildings is covered.

Kiyomizu-Dera Temple is a must to visit during Autumn in Kyoto. Even the main building is under renovation, other areas are still beautiful and colourful in Autumn.

I had been to this temple over 10 years ago and it was beautiful. It is like a tree-house on the side of a mountain, overlooking Kyoto. Normally I would recommend it, but the problem is it is currently under construction and not worth a...More
