I come to this place after a summer storm. So rain washes out everything and making trees even greener. It is pleasant to walk in the garden, and surprisingly not many visitors here. This is a big plus.

Another must visit temple in Kyoto. The entrance fee is 600 yen include the temple and museum. There are number of temples and shrines in that area, you can choose one or two to visit.

We found this temple quite by accident in our meanderings around Gion's smaller streets. Lovely oasis of calm, even at the height of the sakura season.

Beautiful zen gardens, very peaceful and with a bamboo grove and old tea houses. One of the guides, very friendly, gave us some recommendations of other temples to visit in Kyoto.

The Koda-ji Temple in the Gion district is such a peaceful place to visit. The grounds are very well kept.

Certainly not one of the best shrine and Zen garden. If you have seen other gardens, then the visit here is redundant. It is a nice garden with pleasant atmosphere – however I saw much nicer (e.g. The Silver shrine). The area around the shrine...More

The Temple cum Garden was very famous in Kyoto and we have been to this spot several times. Still considered the night time scenery was better because of illumination. Worth to visit.

The rooms are interesting and the wall paintings were spectacular. The gardens were also very pretty and pleasant.

As spectacular as Kyoto's temples are, after visiting several in a single day you may struggle to distinguish them in your mind later on. During three periods of the year - mid-March to early May, 1 to 18 August, and late October to early December...More
