It is a beautiful place. We went at lunch time, temple was closed but it was a peaceful walk around and enjoyed the area.

This was a busy place, but the gardens were so lovely. It was well worth it and so historical. Lovely interiors and full of history. A must see place to stop by when you are in Japan!

Ninna-ji temple features many distinctive and beautiful buildings, including the stunning 5-storied pagoda. But the Goten complex has one of the most peaceful and remarkable gardens of any of the temples I've visited in Kyoto, while also featuring exquisite artwork and architecture. Highly recommended.

Of course it is not as shiny as other temples, but its location, the surroundings, the pagoda next to it, makes it an amazing place to visit. The paintings inside are very interesting and it is much less crowded than any other places we visited...More

This was one of my favorite temples when visiting Kyoto. I 100% recommend to pay the fee to enter and not just viewing the buildings from the outside. When you enter this temple you feel like traveling in time, it has a magic and peaceful...More

This temple has sprawling grounds and I was fortunate to see a couple of cherry blossoms. Not very touristic but nice nevertheless.

We really sorry, but presently the pagoda is not open to the public to prevent deterioration of the interior walls. However we would like to recommend you see the pagoda from the Ninna-ji Goten as the view of the pagoda... More
