Was a beautiful day so went looking for green space and a view. Most people suggest walking the grounds for free is fine vs paying admittance to castle. Close to metro stops. Less a cultural experience then immersion in people and Osaka. It is quite a sight even if a replica. Original was demolished in 1868 and grounds used for... More

It was autumn when we visited, and this park leads to Osaka Castle. The park is quite big so it takes a while to reach the castle. We came a little before closing time so there weren't too many people, but if you prefer to avoid the crowds, come on a weekday. Great for families and couples and friends to... More

Get your walking shoes ready because the castle is very far from the nearest train stop. Alight from Morinomiya station to get to the castle quicker (but there is a steep flight of stairs) or alight from Tanimachiyonchome station to get through the Otemon gate before reaching the castle. Best to visit in the morning or at least after 3... More

I enter from Osakajo-koen station and it only has stairs, no elevator or escalator. And since i'm bring my baby stroller, i must go down through those many stairs and lift the stroller with my wife. Osakajo-koen is the back entrance and the view is not too good from here. In front of the castle is much better, there is... More

This park has Osaka Castle and the walls, Japanese gardens, concert halls, event plazas, baseball stadiums, etc. and has a very large site. There are five nearest stations, but each takes about 20 minutes on foot. Tourists visit Osaka Castle and local people visit parks to relax or join events with their families.

The beautiful sight of traditional kingdom building is contrast with the moderns surrounded but the surroundings seemed too commercialized. Osaka Castle is a highlight for most visitors to Osaka. Since it's on the travel itinerary, do expect crowds. I went at the end of the day when it was a little quieter

A very pretty park and castle. You can walk around for hours in the forest and parks...the building itself is lovely...much has been rebuilt...it has a lovely location on the water to picnic by if you are so inclined.

A Pleasent park to walk through. They had people selling the famous octopus balls that everyone raves about and tell you that you should try them. And I did! And yes they were good. Very tasty. As we were walking we came across this old man playing the violin. He was playing for his own benefit not for anyone else.... More

From the JR train station, there are lots of constructions along the walk along the way which should be nicer in 2018. From the moat, the stroll is very pleasant passing plum and peach groves. A short steep walk lead us to the castle grounds. You can walk around the grounds with a good view of the castle. Facilities on... More
