I emailed Shajasa Travel Tours wanting to book five tours for the week of Oct 17, 2010. They replied with the prices and informed me I had to pay seven days in advance if I wish to take the tours. When I advised them I was a priest and we did not have credit cards to pay in advance due to not be allowed to have personal credit cards, but we would happily wire transfer the funds we never heard from them one way or the other again. This was a blessing. We arrived booked with Tour Fifty-One each night prior to the tour we wanted to take and paid on the day of the tour. The booking was made through our hotel. We discovered the same tours were nearly half the price of Shajasa Travel and Tours. I am sure their services are good because they have gotten good reviews, but I do not see how they could be so good they are worth nearly twice as much. I have no complaints with Tour Fifty-One's service.

Hello,

I am writing to say what a wonderful experience my husband and I had in Malaysia a couple of weeks ago. This is mostly due to the wonderful tour companies I found during our stay. Shajasa tours had a Batu, dinner and firefly tour that looked very cool. When flying into town I realized that our arrivel times were tight. They informed me they would have a driver pick us up (either VJ or Mr. Foo per itineray) at the airport and take us directly to the hotel to check in so we could then get started on our tour.

What a pleasent surprise. We had a private chauffer (VJ) in a new, clean van with a/c. He was very knowledgable, spoke good English and showed us the citys highlights (Petronas towers and KL tower for photo ops), temples and dining/bar areas on our way into town.

He then got us checked into our hotel and took us to the Batu caves which were pretty cool and had a ton of wild monkeys about. Afterwards, he took us out to the area where the Selangor river is for a seafood dinner (included), and then to the firefly boat tour portion. These were all great and we enjoyed it immensly. On our way back we were shown the city again at night with all the lights, Petronas is awesome at night if you love architecture, as we do. VJ will stop at anywhere to get you the photos you want.

Shajasa tour company was great! I highly recommend them for professionalism, quality and value. The following day I had a tour set already with a different company for the Elephant Sancuary (Blueforest.com) It was a good tour company as well with good value but shared (small group) and driver/guide does not speak English but very nice all the same. However, the elephant tour was a major highlight and you really should make bathing with elephants in Malaysia a part of your trip!!!

Shajasa.com and VJ was so good that we decided to pre-book him for our departure back to the airport. VJ gave us one last tour on the way out of town to include a couple of more areas we wouldn't have gotten to see if we hadn't.

Kuala Lumpur is a wonderful city and China town, where we stayed, is a blast and full of life! I highly recommened all the above and would definately call up VJ if we were to make it back to Malaysia!

P.s. Sorry but my photos were unable to upload :(

Best,
Angela & Daniel Novigrod

My friend and I had the Elephant Sanctuary and the Cameron Highlands tours.
Our guides were Mr. Vincent and Mr. VJ, respectively.
Both are excellent guides, they left no question open, and we felt very comfortable with them.
We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and safely brought back in the evening.
Each tour was a private tour with only the guide and no other people.
This gave us a very special and exclusive experience.

Our tours included the following.

Elephant Sanctuary tour:

* Batu Caves
* Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary (feeding elephants)
* Deerland Park visit
* Seeing rubber trees
* Feeding Silver Leaf monkeys
* Firefly boat tour

Cameron Highlands tour:

* Visting Iskandar waterfall
* Meeting natives and shooting darts with blowtube
* Visting tea plantation
* Mossy forest
* Bee farm
* Butterfly garden
* Strawberry farm

Both tours comprise many attractions (hope I didn't miss any above) and the organization is perfect.
For lunch and dinner we had a selection of awesome local food ordered by our guides for us.
The great experience we had was only possible with our guides who know which places
one should really get. They also arranged things you cannot get on your own. For instance,
meeting the natives and using the blowtube. Just great!

To sum up, we had two great tours which are worth every single penny.

took shajasa tour for batu caves and genting highland, it was costly , 502 Rm for two people, which was expensive for a day. If you are planning for a day better get a taxi there. will cost less .

Did a full day tour, price has everything included.

Mr VJ was our guide and driver, he was excellent in every way. He aims to please!

Everything we requested we were able to see and get good info on. Definitely and good guide helps with this.

Batu Caves was the highlight hands down, but beware of the monkeys!!

Restaurant buffet was average, nothing special but a great view from the top.

if you make this tour ask for Mr. VJ and make sure you tip him well. He ended us taking us to the airport the next day for a small fee, less that 1/2 of the hotels price and he has a large van.

My Grandmother and I decided to trust Shajasa Travel & Tours due to the Excellent reviews written on Tripadvisor. So after analysing and looking through the reviews, we have decided to go on the S81 Day trip tour which includes the Batu caves, Silver-leaf monkeys, Fireflies and Elephant Sanctuary.The tour is definetely up to my expectations and my grandma and I wasn't disappointed at all.
After a 'tour Marathon'(which we travelled to Jakarta, Puncak and Bandung), we finally reached Kuala Lumpur, the modern city of Malaysia. We were picked up punctually at 9.30 am. It was a joined tour with another American couple. Our tour guide, Mr Faliq is a very polite and well-spoken individual who isn't shy to interact with us.He treated us like Old friends.(Even though we did not meet before).
Firstly, we visited the Batu caves,which is an indian temple in Malaysia. We had lots of fun looking at the monkeys and the Limestones in the caves. After a long climb, we had a cool and refreshing Coconut drink. Then, we proceed to out next destination, The Elephant Sanctuary.
In the Elephant Sanctuary, we had the oppotunity to get close up with the elephants and feed them with peanuts and papaya.( The elephants are really smart, they will choose the papayas over the sugar cane probably due to its softness). Riding the elephant was really an unforgettable experience for me. Definetely a MUST visit place, if anyone comes to Kuala Lumpur.
After this, we were being driven to the silver-leaf Monkeys. Our tour guide, Faliq is really a very Steady Driver (Not a daredevil unlike some drivers from my Previous tours). We were driven in a very well-maintained and comfortable car. So during the travelling, my grandma and I slept soundly throughout. We got to feed the Silver-leaf monkeys with peanuts and rasins. It is no doubt fun & interesting to watch how the monkeys interact with one another. We had a whale of a time there !
After which, we were treated to a scrumptious Seafood dinner along the river.To complete the day tour, we were driven to see the fireflies. The trees really looked like a fully lighted up christmas tree. This is really something we do not get to see often in our own country, a really memorable experience for my grandma and I, who are singaporeans.
After a long day, visiting and touring Kuala Lumpur. We had to call it a day. Thanks to Ms Pei Pei who answered all the enquires that my grandmother sent to the company. She is definetely helpful & efficient while answering our enquires. Lastly, i also want to thank Mr Faliq who is really a professional tour guide who is charismatic and confident. He made our day.
In conclusion, Thanks to Shajasa travel and tours for providing such an excellent service.

I went on S41 Batu Caves, Silver Leaf Monkeys, Firefly Tour in early Nov 2010. I contacted the tour company beforehand and was told that as a single traveler, I'd have to pay for 2 people. I asked Ms. Pei Pei to let me know if any other travelers signed up for the trip so I could join. No one did and eventually they offered to give me a discount for the tour for one traveler. It was pretty expensive, but comparable to the price offered by my hotel (Royal Chulan).

My guide Mr. Shah picked me up at the appointed time and I also had a separate driver who was training to be a guide. The guide and driver were both very polite and professional. They made a point to get drinks for me (tea while I was at the pewter factory and coconut drink at the caves). They also smoked away from the van, which I appreciated because I don't like cigarette smoke. Everything went smoothly and they climbed up to the Batu Caves with me. We stopped at the pewter factory, played with the silverleaf monkeys, and went on a firefly boat ride. My only complaint was the included dinner wasn't very good. The restaurant staff were also silent and sullen. They literally didn't say a word to me the entire time I was there, except to ask me to pay for the drink I ordered. The food also wasn't very good.

I would definitely go on another tour with this tour company, even if it's very expensive.

On 23rd June me and my wife went on S41 Tour - (Batu Caves, Silver Leaf Monkeys, Firefly with Boat Ride Tour).
Mr. VJ has hosted us for the day. He was cheerful, professional and helpful. Right from our pick-up from hotel and drop back we enjoyed the trip thanks to him. We also had fellow travellers from Phillipines who made the trip all the more interesting. The trip to Batu was less than half an hour drive. We climbed up the 272 steps, saw around, took some pics. Then we went to see the Pewter Factory (Royal Selangor), and bought some wine glasses. (It is expensive but thought it was worth). The silver leaf monkeys were another fascinating experience. A guided tour at the Portugal fort would probably be an ask from me. We then stopped for dinner. Thanks to Shajasa, they have arranged for a yummy vegetarian meal. The last stop was at the Firefly resort. We took a boat ride to see the biggest colony of fireflies. The 20min boat ride spotting these is so thrilling. We returned back by 10pm. At end the trip was worth every minute and every Ringett spent. Highly recommended.

They picked us up from our hotel at 10am & finished & 10pm at night & took us to 4 different spots, Batu Caves, Elephant Sanctuary, Silver Lear Monkeys & Fireflies. We were lucky as there was no one else on the tour so we had our own personalised tour!. The car was a new toyota camry that was airconditioned & it was a very smooth drive. We were given lunch at a restaurant (chicken, rice & salad) & a seafood dinner that was reserved at a restaurant & overlooked a beautiful river. My favourite things were to feed the elephants, feeding the monkeys that would climb up you whole body to get the food & then the romantic gondola ride to see the fireflies. Our tour guide even managed to get us our own boat as we mentioned that it was our honeymoon which was awesome. He even purchased some rumutamg & mango steam from the farms that we drove past & gave us some for free. I would recommend this tour as its a great way to see sites that will take you forever to drive (it took us like one hour to drive between some of these locations & we would sleep in the back).

In all honesty, we were very sceptical of doing a tour in Malaysia due to the fact that it was their monsoon season at the time. I had emailed Shajasa Tours at 8pm and by 7am the following morning, I had already received a response. Ms. Hannah Wong was very efficient and answered every query promptly - I was very impressed and so after much deliberation we decided to do the tour - we are so glad that we did. We were picked up from The Traders Hotel on time and there were only 3 of us on the tour. The vehicle was very comfortable and air-conditioned. The tour worked out perfectly, thanks to Mr. Faliq's initiative, when it had rained he took us to the places that were under cover i.e Pewter Factory, Beryl's Chocolate Factory etc. and by the time we arrived at the Silver Leaf Monkeys it had stopped raining, this was followed by a delicious dinner by the river and a firefly tour. What a memorable day thanks to Mr. Faliq and as mentioned in previous reviews, Mr. Faliq is very professional and knowledgable of the Malaysian culture, he made us feel very comfortable, always went out of his way to assist, was thoughtful and considerate in every way and continually anticipated our needs. He is a genuine, humble and polite individual who had done everything he could to make our day an extra-special one...and it was. Thank you to the Shajasa Tours team, I will be recommending you to friends and family.
