- WikumjRedhill, United Kingdom432 contributionsAmazing fun for adults as well as kidsWow wow wow, this place was way larger and more fun than we were expecting. Multiple zones full of fun and unique and unique interactive exhibits displaying all manner of scientific principles. Clearly excellent for kids but we were just two grown adults who had just as much fun. We spent a couple of hours here and had a great time, in our opinion the best thing to do in the Mall under the Petronas TowersVisited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 June 2024
- katelf_73Bicester, United Kingdom29 contributionsFascinating; exceeded expectations; MUCH bigger than expected; allow more time than you think! After a disappointing experience on the Twin Towers Tour (broken lift so had to rebook for a later slot), we visited the nearest attraction for convenience. It was absolutely brilliant, excellent fun for two adults, a 16 year old and a 10 year old. So much to do and see, and just keeps going on forever; when we thought we’d finished (after about 1.5 hours), there was another whole section. Would be easy to spend 4+ hours here, and I wish we had allowed more time. Entry was RM140 total for 3 adults & 1 child (included RM5 each for a capsule ride). Very well worth it, great fun and educational and thought-provoking too.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 July 2024
- Vaivai2 contributionsCafeteria to escape!!!!The museum is a beautiful Attraction, there are many Fun and interesting Things to do. The course is great. We had a good time. However, the cafeteria inside the museum is to be avoided. The dining area is extremely dirty (tables, floor), no staff to keep the places clean and dignified to settle with our child to snack. The table and chairs are cleaned with the same cloth. But the worst part is that my husband caught a major gastro, after ordering a cappucino. Probably the milk was not fresh!!! He was sick of it all night. Small flat also for the toilet, it is not clean.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 August 2024
- KC_OoiSydney, Australia11 contributionsExcellent Indoor KL AttractionHad a great time here; both as an adult myself and with my 6 year old. It’s located at the top floor within KLCC mall and we hopped in for the early entry at 9.30am. Tickets can be pre purchased online or via automatic ticket booth if you happened to be visiting the mall. We planned according to weather forecast so decided to spend the day indoor and was amazed by the number of displays inside. Engaging science displays, interactive mining and automation/robotic exhibit, dinosaurs, VR formula one rides and so much more. Ticket price is affordable and great visit to add in addition to the twin tower access.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 27 September 2024
- Bob AndrewsLetmathe, Germany48 contributionsGreat fun for little money.Great "physics" exhibition. Young and old can try things out. We enjoyed it wonderfully. Admission is small. You are not allowed to bring bags in, but there are free lockers. However, you should bring a little time. We were there for almost three hours.Visited October 2024Travelled with familyWritten 13 October 2024

It is a very fun hands-on science museum. I visited it because of my child, but my child really liked it because there was a lot for adults to enjoy, and most of all, it was a science museum where you could experience things rather than just see them. It was quite large and took a lot of time, but I was able to look around without noticing the time passing. If you go early in the morning, you can use it without waiting. There were more people in the afternoon. I highly recommend visiting.

A very well made museum with great activities for both kids and adults to discover about the ways of science and how science is all around us. I would suggest to book tickets in advance and allow yourself a good 2-4h if you really want to enjoy everything. We spent so long in the first part of the museum that we had to rush the other parts to make our other plans.

Our trip to KL was a 4 day trip from the 27th to the 31st of December and all entertainment was planned solely for the kids. After some research I was able to shortlist a couple of attractions to take the kids to and the Discovery Centre topped the list.
What a fantastic trip it was both my kids 2.5 and 3.5yr olds loved it, enjoyed every minute of it and so did we. We spent about 3hrs in there, opted for walking in as we had to wait for 45min for the ride. The entrance ticket costs about 28MR for adults and 16.5MR for kids.
It was such an educational and fun filled trip.

Very few changes since they opened up, and we have been coming here over the past 10 years and it’s obvious it’s not fully up to date. A number of activities/showcase’s aren’t even working despite they had time during the pandemic to sort this out.
It will be over last visit until the give this place a full overhaul.

This place is on Level 4 of Petronas Towers.
When we arrived there was a school group in front of us and we thought it may make our experience longer than normal. Except for the beginning, it wasn't an issue.
Cost when we were there was 28 MYR per person.
At the beginning you are taken on a small cart on wheels and they step you through some technology over different areas of Malaysia's history. You are the dropped into the exhibition area.
There are 11 exhibits to see. Space, Time Tunnel, Geotime Diorama, Science Station, Sparkz, Oil Platform, Speed, Molecule Nano World, Future Energy and 3D Theatre.
There is a Cafe about 1/2 way through which stocks basic snacks and coffee at a reasonable price.
After 2 hours we had only done 1/2 of the exhibitions. We rushed the last bit and had already spent 3.5 hours there.
Could of spent 4-5 hours.

Fantastic if you’ve got little ones either you - we didn’t - perhaps we should have looked more closely at reviews. For adults, there’s little you can do really hold interest for long. We missed the paid for events which might have made it more interesting, but for us 60+ nice to see youngsters enjoying themselves, but this place is not really for us. If you have youngsters with you 5 - 15 (say) there is an awful lot for them to get their hands on so I would imagine they would have a real good time

This is a must see for us every time we visit KL, normally we end up visiting more than once. The children have an absolute ball and learn while having fun. The pneumatic diggers are an absolute hit. It's a shame that the COVID-19 measures are limiting some activities at the moment but hopefully they will lift soon. Really excellent value for money.

I highly recommend Petrosains for anyone visiting KL with kids.
It is a highly educational and hands on centre that our kids loved.
The centre is split into different themes such as dinosaurs, oil rigs, robots and space. Each different area is well themed and the kids imaginations run wild.
When we visited there was a number of activities that were closed due to covid restrictions. This did not detract from our visit to the centre.
We look forward to returning again soon!

I'd give it 6 stars if I could! Highly recommended. It's so unassuming, but right from the start (the ride in the drop of oil) you're captivated. All my kids loved it (5, 8, 10). We spent 3 hours there, but could've been more. Was even contemplating a 2nd visit. We spent a lot of time at the early exhibits (space area) which meant speeding through the later ones. I'd recommend setting aside 4 hours or more, cos there is just so much to get through. It's informative and interactive so fun for everyone.

This is one of the best places for kids to learn in KL. The information and games that are displayed are all scientifically backed and explained. It takes at least 2-3 hours to go through. My kids love it, I go every 2 months.

I visited this centre last Sunday with my relatives. One of them is a five year old girl. She got a cut on her upper ear after bumping gently into a fixture. She needed three stitches. So it your centre really suitable for small kids?

Kids always get bumps and knocks where ever they are, there is nothing here that is particularly dangerous for kids, we took a 7 and 9 year old with no problems

Will it be too boring for 3yo toddlers?
Written 6 May 2019
Largely depends on the 3 year old. There are activities which would be suitable, but not a lot. If your 3 year old needs to be constantly entertained with changing things they will get bored quickly, we took 7 and 9 year old, was good for them

Hi I will visiting petrosains in this sept 2017. My questions are :
1.is the dinosaur attraction already open?
2. Im visiting Kl in friday until sunday only, what day and timing that best for go to petrosains? That not too crowded..
3. How many hour mostly people spending time in petrosains?
Thanks alot:)
Written 31 August 2017
1 - Yes!
2 - As per my review, if you want to make sure to get the best souvenirs, go there early. Also, if you have kids, make sure they are well rested and well fed because they'll be on foot for at least 3 hours. Avoid weekends at all costs because if the massive crowds and lengthy queuing times
3 - as above.
Enjoy!
