We really enjoyed the opportunity to see and learn about this relocated village headman’s residence. Surrounded by skyscrapers, this is a fascinating glimpse into the past and a calming escape. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful experience! Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our visit to see this lovely old malaysian house. The guided tour was really worth doing. There is also a craft shopping area just up the road.

Surrounded by modern skyscrapers, this small Malay cabin is a reminder of Kuala Lumpur's village root. Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman is a nicely maintained structure at the commercial heart of the Malaysian capital. Unfortunately there is only one guided tour Wednesday to Saturday and not much illustration is available.

Recommend visiting this little oasis of history set amongst the towering high rise of KL. We joined the 3pm tour so we could go inside. Very much enjoyed the presentation by our guide on the design of the house and the family who lived there.

This black shining house was built base on two thing on mind. One to avoid of monsoon rain flood by make it on highest ground up by rest on many pillar.Second it built for mobility- easy to move if needed, because on its time when moving that mean moving the whole house to the new location.Look at the base of this house was not fix permanent because for this matter.

The staff, members and especially the volunteers at the Badan Warisan Malaysia Heritage Centre should be proud of their efforts in the conservation and preservation of historic buildings and places in Malaysia.
Surrounded by large hotels and near the Craft Complex, this restored house deserves any recognition that comes their way and a few more visitors will hopefully help to pay the bills. It's only a short walk from the KLCC Park or Bukit Bintang.
The video of the restoration is well worth seeing but the star of the show is definitely the house on stilts built in three stages. The history of the house and the way it was designed to help the residents cope with the climate was very interesting.

It's so nice to have somewhere amidst this urban jungle of immense modernity that celebrates the tradition and heritage of the Malay culture.

Nestled in a road of high rise construction and massive hotels is this quaint traditional Malay house. They found it abandoned in Kedah state in North Malaysia but transported here to KL for its preservation.

Myself and two others were taken on a guided tour by a Malay woman around the house which used to be owned by a local chief in Kedah. The tour cost 10 ringgit and we were shown a video of its construction and transportation afterwards.

I would thoroughly recommend this attraction to those who want to see a different side of Malaysian culture in Kuala Lumpur.

I got here too late for the tour but the archivist let me into the heritage society to see their exhibit of photos of the old rail system and let me take pictures of the exterior of the house. It was a peaceful reminder of times past. I wish the heritage society the very best in maintaining it

This house has an amazing history. It was carefully dismantled, moved to K.L. and restored by an ngo which has applied to have it included into the National Heritage, to save it from developers. Located in a premium location, it will need help and voices to help this ngo preserve this jewel. Well worth the trip for those looking for traditional houses from Malaysia. Excellent guide! Closeby, about 100 m away, lies a tastefully designed craft center with quality items which truly represent the Malaysian expertise in weaving, painting, dagger craftmanship and furniture pieces, among others.
