The new Bamboo restaurant in Jalan Alor is brilliant.
Burmese food during day and from 7.00 pm Thai food.
The Chilli crab is delicious . The deep fried squid partnered with pineapple rice is really yummy.
Outstanding customer service, nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
A great place to eat.

When you are looking for a night market in Kuala Lumpur with good food that’s definitely the place to go!
There are lot of Malay, Chinese and Indian Restaurants with a lot of different foods. When you looking for Durian you should also go there!

We were approached by a call girl. There are pickpockets and other riff-raff. Does not feel safe and is not clean. Go early in the day and go soon if you want to see the street art as much of it is already fading.

It is said that this is the longest food street in Asia. Here you can find a variety of Asian food. There are many exotic foods here that you can sit on the table and eat after choosing on the street!Of course, among the thousands of dishes, the only thing I chose was ice cream made with fresh coconut !!

The foreign workers who manned the stalls here were nice. Now, the locals have taken on the job. The locals make no effort in making this a great place. It has slid into seedier realm with lots of filth/dirt around.

Here is the only real Asean street food and controlled by Chef who is brought specially from Asean Countries other than Malaysia, namely Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and so on. You can taste the cuisine of the Asean countries and go to those countries because in Jalan Alor you can feel the authenticity and freshness of the cuisine of each Asean country. You can also taste a variety of tropical fruits and can relax while massaging the whole body or foot massage for those interested in the activity. If you go to Kuala Lumpur do not forget to include Jalan Alor in diary as one of the must-visit places.

This is definitely a tourist trap. Over priced food that will fail by all Malaysian standards.
Worked by many foreign labourers serving with bad attitude and service. One wonders why the tourism ministry continues to allow such bad images of Malaysia to be conveyed to the rest of the world.
If you are there for great food, go elsewhere. If you are already regretting being there, hang on to your belongings carefully. Lots of thieves, pick pockets and pumps around the place.

What would be the best thing or place to eat here if I have a very severe nut allergy?

Best to stick to seafood. You can also ask at restaurants and emphasise your allergy. Stay away from satay especially the sauce which is peanut based. Sometimes the meat marinade could also be contaminated with peanut.

Do you recommend taking a taxi/Grab during peak hours (9pm-12am)? I’m more concerned about how easy or difficult it is to get a taxi/Grab leaving from this place.

I would suggest to take the monorail at Imbi, the traffic is hectic that time of night and a 5 minute trip can take up to 40 min. Taxi's would take a long time.

Jalan Alor is a street full of little restaurants with wide variety of food selection. I am pretty sure you get a vegetarian dish somewhere. But I don't think there is one particular restaurant that is 100% vegetarian. Hope you enjoy your stay there. Good luck!

Tactically it is available 24/7 from breakfast till supper. But usually the crowd will be concentrate during evening to late night and that is also the most food choice available.
Is the place convenient for parking? As we will be driving there. Any recommended location/spot for parking?
