The City Gallery is located in the heart of colonial Kuala Lumpur. The museum is small but interesting. There is a very nice cafe. As well as a shop selling interesting souvenirs.

We visited KLCG because of its new bakery. However we enjoyed the art gallery more. Pretty interesting history of Kuala Lumpur is detailed here together with photographs. Bakery was fascinating but the waiting line was loooooooong!

Actually is a good place to save a pic of your trip to Kl . a little gallery with little information, but gives you some background to KL and holidays, on the ground floor. upstairs is bare apart from a cool light show, showing you about the city over a model of the city which is good to see.

This is a KL focused museum set over 2 floors with the 1st focused on information about KL and the history of the city. The 2nd floor is more about fun, where there's a lot of models of city landmarks, a 3D art type photographic opportunities, a model of KL city and a cinematic style presentation about Malaysia.
To be honest, unless you’ve never been to KL before, a lot of the information is presented all over the city, albeit piecemeal. So there wasn’t really anything that I hadn’t seen before. The 3D art was kind of fun. The models of KL city and Sultan Abdul Samad Building look like a breathtaking labour of love. The video show was pretty boring, it was like a cinematic version of statistics for Malaysia and KL.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the gallery also has tourist information and booking services, although I did not use these. The gift show is huge and if you’re looking for souvenirs, this is as good a place as any in the city.
If you’re a first timer in the city and not been in the city long either, then this is a good stop.

I cannot see how his place is interesting: show with models was not working properly, pictures on walls were falling appart, I did not learn anything. Not recommended if you want something other than selfie

KL City Gallery is a scenic spot at KL CBD next to the Indepence Centre. The Gallery used to be a printing house. Inside the Gallery, you can walk through the history of Malaysia and understand the cultural diversity of the country. Besides, one can learn the current development of Malaysia, especially the city of KL.

At the entrance to the KL City Gallery is the iconic 'I love KL' sculpture, we joined a short queue to have our photo taken infront of before moving on into the comforts of the air-conditioned gallery.
The KL City Gallery essentially is an small tourist information office with displays on some of the history of Kuala Lumpur and local culture. Adjoining the small rooms of the gallery is a large gift store which sold some very nice quality souvenirs. Alongside to the gift store were a few food outlets, unfortunately nothing on offer tempted my tastebuds. The gallery offers walking tours, but the timing of the tours did not suit our short stay in KL. The Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is located a short walk away from Merdeka Square, the Queen Victoria art nouveau fountain and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building.
