A full day of adventure. Cycling through scenic countryside in the morning followed by white water rafting on the popular Slim River in the afternoon. The location of both activities is only 1 hour 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. Our pick-up and drop-off for all our guests is at the KL Sentral station in Kuala Lumpur. Trip booked via hotel so picked up [they take a minimum of 6 people] go to a meeting point, then onward to the border. One needs a passport. Good instructions from guide, no problem negotiating customs. Once in Johor Bahru which seemed a pleasant town we went to have a look at village life at a tourist centre. Very interesting tour of about an hour. Well spoken guide in English. Demonstrations of latex being taken from a tree, various exotic fruits grown in Malaysia, sampling a fresh cocoa bean from a newly opened pot and then an exhibition of dancing - very enjoyable. Some wonderful gifts for sale - need I say any more, especially the batik which we saw a demonstration of. Afterwards a tour of the town picking out the main features. followed by a visit to a very different colonial style mosque. Back across the border no problems , again 10 minutes. An unexpected enjoyable trip.
