What a wonderful half-day tour. Me and my boyfriend were just beginners but Eddie and his team took our level and skills into account and made it a very pleasant experience. Definitely will come back.

We're indoor gym people (yeah call us chickens) and do the very occasional outdoor trad climb.
It was a public holiday (Chinese New year) when we came to Kuala Lumpur and we weren't sure if Verticale was open for tours during this time. About 2 weeks before, I sent Verticale a message and they agreed to take my partner and I on a half day climbing tour, which worked out brilliantly for all of us.
We took a grab car to Verticale which is quite a bit away from where we were staying and met our instructor Hazman, who, after taking care of our rental gear, then ferried us to the Batu caves in his car. The Damai Wall is the section that we were at and there are a few shops and toilet facilities there for those completely worried that they'd be in a complete outhouse.
In all, we had a great time. We told Hazman about our personal comfort levels and they planned the routes for us accordingly - which we found interesting and challenging - and at no time at all did we feel unsafe or unsure. At the end of our climb, Hazman kindly dropped us off at a monorail station where we could take the train back to where we were staying.
Verticale is a fantastic company to use, whether you're a newbie or an advanced climber - they'll take you where you want to go, as much as you need.

Im an avid indoor climber and this was my first time trying outdoor climbing ever... I couldnt imagine a better experience. It was just two of us at the taster course at demai wall in batu caves, and we had Faiz, Am and another Verticale staff member all to ourselves - they were incredibly enthusaistic, easy going , informative, helpful and nothing less than amazing!! safety was a #1 concern and this wasnt an issue at all ; first time climbers have nothing to worry about! i would go back to verticale again in a heartbeat, they are a top notch climbing /guide company.

This is the 1st time we experience the outdoor climbing. They are 3 of us and we take the half day climbing package. our instructor Hazman and Syahmi are very nice guys and helpful. There are very responsible too. They set up the rope with very short time just to make sure we able to start as soon as possible and we could enjoy maximum in the limited climbing time.

Situated nearby Batu caves. This is your one stop center for all your climbing gears. Their staff are most friendly and helpful. They do have promotion/clearance stock from time to time. so do check their web page and who knows you might get some really good bargains. This is the only shop I know which provide resole for your torn shoes. The price are quite reasonable. Do check them out.

My boyfriend and I have been climbing indoor back home in Sydney for 8 months or so, and this was our first outdoor climb. Our guides Isu* and Bo* were terrific, they tailored the climbs to our ability and were really friendly and helpful.
They taught us about the local area climbing and gave us lots of tips for our first time leading on rock.
Would definitely recommend for beginner and intermediate climbers!

My friends and I climb regularly at an indoor gym but we have only done a very short session at Krabi last year. We decided to head up to Batu Caves for some outdoor climbing this year, and based on a friend’s recommendation, we looked up Verticale and booked a full day course with them. Very responsive staff so booking with them through email is a breeze! No payment required until you arrive, so zero hassle!
We arrived on time in the morning after a quick Chinese breakfast nearby, and the guide and staff was already waiting for us. You can opt for the staff to come pick you up at the train stations too, but as there was 3 of us, it was easier to just catch a taxi over. It was quite funny as they asked us to pay for half day only, as we can then top up if we should decide to continue for the rest of the day! I guess many people drop out after half a day and it would be more trouble to refund them! Turns out they were right about us after all!
Hazman was our guide for the day and we truly could not have gotten a better guide! Very friendly, professional and encouraging, he is the best guide you would want to calm your fears on the rock wall! Arif was our other guide, and he was the right combination to Hazman’s seriousness, as he cracked loads of jokes (without impairing any safety of course!) through the morning, and pushed me to do what I would normally chickened out on (but I am so glad he did!). It was a fun filled morning as we did several really cool routes, picked up some new skills from our guides, and chit chat with other fellow climbers at the wall. At no time did they show us any impatience, and were very encouraging throughout. Safety was always first, and they constantly asked us for feedback on how we feel and if we wanted to go for easier/harder routes.
The guides had picked Damai Wall, which is a short drive from Verticale’s office, and you could either catch a ride with the guide or drive your own car over. The guides had a Malaysia climbing guide book on them, and you could pick out the routes which you will be climbing. There are a significant number of 5c routes but also some multi pitch routes for the more experienced climbers. We understand from the guides that there are many other walls around Batu Caves, but as this was our first trip, we had opted for Verticale to pick the most suitable wall for us. On a Saturday morning, the wall is not crowded and there are plenty of routes to go around even with some big groups doing their virgin climb nearby.
After our climb, we headed for lunch with the guides nearby (superb mango juice!) before the guide kindly dropped us off at the Hindu temple for some sightseeing. A superb day and I would definitely climb with Verticale again!

We signed up with Verticale on a friend’s recommendation, not doing any research ourselves (highly unusual) and it turned out to be a great decision. Verticale’s office was a greedy beginner climber’s heaven. Climbing books, gear, services (resoling) were neatly arranged for maximum visibility. We met Hazman, a friendly, personable guide who promptly drove us to the site after ascertaining that we had our own gear. The guides are professional, helpful, patient and through a combination of creative fudging of climbing grades, jokes and gentle coercion, got three hapless beginner climbers with loads of fear and very little outdoor experience up the routes a good 6 times each. Safety was never neglected and we were always checked before each climb even as the jokes flowed. We went expecting to get in half a day’s climbing with a guide. We left with lots of laughter, new awareness (particularly of how broadly 5c may be defined), aching muscles, new friends and renewed enthusiasm for climbing.

I was asked to review and experience what they offer. For someone who's afraid of heights, I expected a horrifying time. But to my astonishment, it turned out to be an exhilarating experience.
Watching how they climbed and expertly laid the ropes and the encouragement and professional guidance from the ground, despite my initial fear I made it to the top. These guys are so good they made you feel so confident! They sure made it a joy to climb.
Give it a try. These are real professionals.

Have been wanting to try rockclimbing at Batu Caves for a while now and I finally got round to doing it with the guys at Verticale! They were professional and took great care of my friend and I.
We were picked up at Batu Caves train station by our guides and they took us to their office to get fitted with the gear. We were then driven to Damai wall where Alif gave us a thorough safety briefing. Faiz and Taqi then took over as our climbing guides. It was evident how passionate all 3 guys were about rockclimbing. They were fun and also really patient throughout - they let us go at our own pace which allowed us to figure out the wall ourselves and they never rushed us, offering instructions on our next move only when we needed them.
We had a blast and are already thinking of doing another climb with them in the future. Would definitely recommend Verticale if you're looking to do some climbing in KL!

Hello,
Me and my girlfriend are visiting KL from 5th to 8th February and will be excited to try climbing at Batu Caves. We have no experience climbing so we are curious are there any programs for beginners?

from their website
They have the TASTER program which requires no experience at all. from the website: "No previous experience is required for this fun session, all you need is your enthusiasm! "
