Work has been done around the small Titiwangsa lake with new fences and buildings to make the recreational area more wellcoming. Nothing is though yet open, there is a food court nearby. The area is blocked from the city side by a busy highway and construction sites but it is possible to walk there from Chow Kit monorail past the Hospital KL.

We have moved three weeks ago from the suburbs to central Kuala Lumpur here in Malaysia. This weekend, we decided to visit the Titiwangsa lake or Task, which is just few kilometres away from my home.
I visited with my wife and teenaged son on Sunday afternoon. There were no problems with parking. Entrance is free. We found youngsters, adults and the elderly enjoying themselves. Bicycles and tandem bicycles are available for rent, with the young and families enjoying their ride around the lake.
The surroundings are green with tall trees providing considerable shade - not that it was hot. There was cool breeze blowing in from the lake. Families were seated on the grass and some were enjoying tea and snacks. One gets fantastic views of the Petronas twin towers, the KL tower and other skyscrapers at downtown KL. I also remember in 2008, there used to be a giant Ferris wheel here known as the "Eye on Malaysia". Sadly, it is no longer here.
This visit to Titiwangsa lake reminded me of an unhurried time during my childhood in India. Totally relaxing and worth a repeat visit on any day of the week.

Loving this newly opened park. So many new different activities catering to families. It can be crowded during the weekends, but nevertheless it's a really good place for families and friends to enjoy with everyone from different communities coming together. Parking can be really a hassle there, wish there were signage to show where to park so it's pretty much jam all the way in. Let's keep this place clean and safe for our children to enjoy and have fun with all the kids.

I visited Taman Tasik Titiwangsa (Titiwangsa Park) early in the morning on my second day in Kuala Lumpur. It was a clear sunny day at that time so it was perfect for an early morning walk near the lake.
The park was located near my hotel (Sunway Putra Hotel) so it was just a few minutes Grab ride. There are some joggers in the park when I arrived but overall (maybe because it was a weekday), it was quiet and peaceful. It was relaxing just walking slowly around the park's central lake and the nearby fountain. You can also get glimpses of the towers (from afar) as well as the nearby National Visual Arts Gallery.
It was a good choice to visit Titiwangsa Park to start my day and I actually spent an hour just sitting on a bench overlooking the lake. It was such a refreshing feeling and definitely gave me the energy and good vibes for the whole day.
I recommend this for travelers who are looking for a quiet time at a park, away from the hustle of crowds (however, I am not sure how busy it gets during weekends or holidays).

I walked the entire perimeter as I couldn’t believe the entire park would be shut at once, but alas it is. Signage in Malay only so unsure how long it will be until it reopens.

Definitely head here early evening for a good view of the sun setting across the city. The buildings will light up, and on a clear day it is beautiful! There are plenty of places to eat and drink in this area! Or stop at a store and bring your own beers/ snacks to enjoy the park

The playground area was closed and no signage regarding when it will be completed.
The lake was very dirty and garbage was everywhere. Not many rubbish bins.
River kayaking obstacle races taking place which was fun to watch.
Lots of families and lots of healthy food options with good prices.
Fun to rent motorized cars for the kids to ride near the main entrance.
Very hard to find a taxi when leaving.

Nice and green park within Kuala Lampur. I went there in the afternoon with my kids and they enjoyed it. There is a playground for kids, bicycle rental and other activities.

I live close to the park and love going for a stroll around it. It can be difficult to get to without a car or taxi, but it is on the KL hop-on-hop-off bus route. Take a picnic and have lunch under one of the many shaded picnic tables. Go early in the morning or late in the day and hire a boat or kayak to paddle around the lake. For kids, there is a playground or you can hire small electric vehicles for them to cruise around the small road system. If they prefer roller blading you can also hire these.
I like the bikes you can hire and ride around the lake. There are a variety of different kids, including twin and triple bikes and covered bikes good for younger kids.
Definitely a nice day out.

Written 11 February 2018
Hi, saw the news that this taman is closed for projects until end of 2018, is it true? can we still visit?
Written 26 May 2017
Somehow the news is not 100% true. the part which is closed is the other side. The main recreational area still open.
Written 2 June 2017
Do we have to pay for the entrance? Is it all free?
Written 19 December 2016
Yes. It's free to walk around and enjoy the park. However, you can hire bicycles, electric bicycles and small boats for a fee. There are also places to eat and vendors selling drinks.
Written 19 December 2016
There is lots of parking available. Whichever direction you come from it would be easier if you come in through the main entrance. there will beplenty parking bays designated or you could just park infront of the food stalls.
