I was looking for Japanese gift for a special friend / retire teacher who love Japanese food. It was really become a local traders hub and street performers/ musicians arena with so many foreigners (Blu Collar). Sui See was low quality ......... and up I only bought a pack seaweed snack.

SOGO is in general luxury but the prices are acceptable. You can find a lot of choices of everything and there was a 5% discount for visitors in addition to the other discounts. You can eat in the LG floor (fast food), or in the sixth floor (different types of food).

Even though this place is already old, it’s still relevant in today’s context. Many eateries there. Prices of things u must look n compare. Top floor nice food court.
Evening time there are buskers. If u have more money please donate to them. Don’t just listen to free music n entertainment only. Donate generously to them.
In front there are nice Capital Cafe that sells good nasi padang n where all the human race meet n greet each other before eating together.

Large variety of shops including supermarket. I picked up some great t shirts on sale for the kids @RM 19($Aus6). Otherwise it’s pretty expensive by local standards. There are also many dining options.

Customers are crowding for bargains during seasons festivities on the ground floor which also has a large cosmetics department. As a traditional store catering for the whole family Sogo has managed to hold it's place in competition with never malls. A big supermarket fills the basement with a large food court outside in the shelter, a more vacant toilet is beside it.

. Lots of branded perfumes, designers clothing, shoes , leather goods, kitchenware, and daily household items neatly displayed in about 6 floors of retail space. Choices are abundance if you are looking for some serious or just window shopping . Prices are up market and parking is ample but costly. Recommended to give this a visit if you are looking for some fun shopping with friends and family.

Yes!!
The food court at the top level has many local delights. They also have the false water fountain looks so real. The shopping is also very reasonable.
You can get everything there.
I prefer sogo then any other shopping because of the reasonable price for me.

Excellent mall if you want to actually just SHOP! So well organised and not full of the same old same old. You won’t find too B many mainstream brands here but the variety of clothing is extensive and you will go home with some really unique pieces

There was a massive 70% off sale when we visited (I believe it is on until the end of the year) And for just a few more dollars more than the markets outside, you can get a genuine piece....for example...in the street markets outside they were selling (fake...) guess bags for 25-30rm , so around $10 Australian...however inside...the genuine item was 40-50rm....do the math...with a strong currency if you're a tourist..you're pay literally a few dollars more for a genuine piece. Note however the sales were down from like 300-400rm, so the saving is huge. This is a six floor complex with all the major and high end brands...there's a supermarket downstairs and well as a food court on the six floor where you can literally buy anything. Just a heads up. In KL I have avoided outdoor bathrooms and pretty much at bathroom outside the hotel or twin towers. Seeing as sogo is a massive six level Armani and Versace adorned palace I thought the bathrooms are safe,,,not only is there your 30rm entrance (which i wouldn't have minded....) just note bathrooms are not what you may be used to. Ie..it's the traditional ground toilet with water everywhere. A heads up sign at the door, especially as this is a place filled with tourists...just some notice would have been good:) I ended up sacrificing my 30rm and went to the KFC outside
(Oh while you're here, go outside the complex across the street. There's some AMAZING fabrics, silks and scarves )

Anyone knows where that chicken rice shop move to? You know the one selling carrot cake also. Been trying to track them down. Thx.

Not sure which chicken rice shop you're referring to, there are a few there... but you can try the corner of Jalan Raja Chulan, opposite the Central Market... there are many restaurants at the back of central market with pretty good yummies. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, no. Sogo is essentially one big self contained departmental store with many individual brands that take a lot in this building. Lot 10, pavilion and Avenue K would have them.

Hi, is it located near masjid india (the bazaar)? Within walking distance?
what is worth buying from there? Clothings, shoes, perfumes?
what is the price range?
Written 11 November 2017
Basically it is a Japanese Department Store but under the joint local management. The products are branded not fake... Clothes and household items are good and Perfume also branded and something have good promotion too. It is within walking distance about 5-10 minutes walk depends... Most of the Shopping malls and Department stores have the tourist card for tourists and they offer discount and or free gifts depends on their marketing plan.

Are the items like bags shoes and clothing all genuine items or are they fakes like china town? Thank you
