- J C244 contributionsThere is always a precious stone in a mud ballSungei Wang Plaza is all about casual shoping but I discovered a miniature museum which deserves a visit since it brings visitors back to an era which is now lost. Quite a task however to reach there. Look for Jumpa level. It really deserves a Thumb Up.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 October 2023

Lady was very kind , helpful and had great communication skills. The dresses were a bit different from the ones being sold everywhere. Shop is called The Red Club on ground floor. Do check it outVisited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 October 2023
- simonebbMelbourne, Australia253 contributionsGreat to go and explore. More of a local shopping centre.Spent a lot of time here. More local shops than pavilion. Great place to buy cheap glasses, phone cases or screens and pick up trinkets and souvenirs. Also highly recommend getting a hair wash and blow dry here at many of the hair salons. Cheap and great head massage. Great places to get a manicure and pedicure as well. Good little food court and places to eat also. Supermarket located lower level of you wish to stock up your fridge at your accommodation. I love coming back to this shopping centre. You can also cut though it to get to low yat plaza and Berjaya Times Square shopping plazas.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 December 2023
- 888travelKaron, Thailand497 contributionsAmazing for manicures, pedicures and hair treatments! This is a local shopping centre in the heart of Buket Bintang which is a haven for beauty treatments. Manicures, pedicures, hair cuts etc. There are so many places to choose from on various floors and they are all ridiculously cheap and about a quarter of the price you would pay in the UK. Gel pedicure MYR 50 (£8), wash and blow dry MYR 25 (just over £4). Absolute bargain!Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 20 January 2024
- fire-tower3,185 contributionsWorth a visit if you have time especially when you like thriftingThis mall is conveniently located next to and connected to the monorail Bukit Bintang station. While it is not a new mall, it has become a place where a large number of thrift stores are located. Some of these stores have quite nice items but you will need patience to go through the racks. Giant is present at LG. Of course, there are other stores including various eateries. Worth a visit if you have time especially when you like thrifting.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 May 2024

This aged shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur is a nightmare for navigation. Once visitors come in, there is no easy way to get out. Many of the floors are empty or half-empty. Shops here mainly cater to locals and there is no particular reason of visit

This poor place has been easily overshadowed by all the other new malls springing up in Bukit Bintang. Pavilion, for instance, is the obvious choice to be, and not Sungei Wang. The only reason I came here was because it has Giant Supermarket, and yet it was such a SMALL, disappointing supermarket. This has got to be the smallest Giant Supermarket I have been to. tsk tsk.
Not coming back to Sungei Wang ever again.

I happened to stop by here. There were clothes shops, a nail salon and an eyeglass shop inside. The nail salon and massage salon were much cheaper than those around Alor Street, and the place is frequented by locals, and the customer service was good.
I recommend this place because it's relatively quiet and you can shop reasonably.

First mall we visited on our first day in KL in our trip.
Deserted. Quiet. No crowd. We drank bubble tea n ate the cheesecakes from two shops in level 1. disappointed.
I bought one pair of hush puppies shoes n slippers.
I also bought a hand made comb with my name engraved on it.
We didn't even know that Bukit bintang plaza which were linked to it had been closed many years ago..... 😂 This shows how long we had last visited here.

Good selection of shops at reasonable prices. Been there many times but shop selection reducing, many closed probably because of covid lockdown and getting back up to speed. Well worth checking out though - bartering accepted practice here.

One of the legendary mall that still exists in KL golden triangle. The mall is under major upgrading works and to be completed in mid of 2021. Have plenty of good and cheap optical shop in Kuala Lumpur. You can make a good quality spectacle with half an hour. Most of the optical shop located at Lower Ground & Ground floor. Looking forward to revisiting again with Sungei Wang's new facelift soon.

Sungei Wang Plaza is one of many shopping centres in the shopping and entertainment district of Bukit Bintang. From the exterior, it looks like a tired old building in need of refurbishment. The interior looks much nicer though. There’s a decent food court here, so I could shop and eat without having to leave the shopping centre. The range of shops is pretty much the same as the other shopping centres around this area. That is, a mix of standard high street brands and local one man band type shops aimed at locals. I like this plaza more than the others in Bukit Bintang

Kuching, Malaysia
1. Is the food court cum kopitiam still operating at the top floor? If yes, how is the access there?
2. I remember after eating there, i used to do my shoppings at the kiosk and little shops on the tops floor. Are those kiosk/shops still operating? If yes, how to access there?
It has been a while since i go there. Your advice and answer are very much appreciated. Thanks a bunch
Regards
Edwin

Hi Edwin Then,
1. The Hawker Centre can be accessed using elevator service via Green Zone or Orange Zone. Alternatively, you may pay a visit to our FoodZania at 3rd Floor for a new dining area which consist of Food Truck, D'Food Caravanz and FoodCart.
2. The shopping kiosks and shops on our 6th Floor has been transformed to Education & Storage Hub.
Thank you.
