- jacklinchang229 contributionsThere is always a precious stone in a mud ballSungei Wang Plaza is all about casual shoping but I discovered a miniature museum which deserves a visit since it brings visitors back to an era which is now lost. Quite a task however to reach there. Look for Jumpa level. It really deserves a Thumb Up.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 October 2023

Lady was very kind , helpful and had great communication skills. The dresses were a bit different from the ones being sold everywhere. Shop is called The Red Club on ground floor. - simonebbMelbourne, Australia253 contributionsGreat to go and explore. More of a local shopping centre.Spent a lot of time here. More local shops than pavilion. Great place to buy cheap glasses, phone cases or screens and pick up trinkets and souvenirs. Also highly recommend getting a hair wash and blow dry here at many of the hair salons. Cheap and great head massage. Great places to get a manicure and pedicure as well. Good little food court and places to eat also. Supermarket located lower level of you wish to stock up your fridge at your accommodation. I love coming back to this shopping centre. You can also cut though it to get to low yat plaza and Berjaya Times Square shopping plazas.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 December 2023
- 888travelKaron, Thailand485 contributionsAmazing for manicures, pedicures and hair treatments! This is a local shopping centre in the heart of Buket Bintang which is a haven for beauty treatments. Manicures, pedicures, hair cuts etc. There are so many places to choose from on various floors and they are all ridiculously cheap and about a quarter of the price you would pay in the UK. Gel pedicure MYR 50 (£8), wash and blow dry MYR 25 (just over £4). Absolute bargain!Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 20 January 2024
- fire-tower3,123 contributionsWorth a visit if you have time especially when you like thriftingThis mall is conveniently located next to and connected to the monorail Bukit Bintang station. While it is not a new mall, it has become a place where a large number of thrift stores are located. Some of these stores have quite nice items but you will need patience to go through the racks. Giant is present at LG. Of course, there are other stores including various eateries. Worth a visit if you have time especially when you like thrifting.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 May 2024

Very old style shopping centers with repetitive goods for sale. We went in, looked at some shoes, walked one round and came out. No crowd. Interior design is plain. Shops are repetitive. Would not recommend to come here.

Sungai Wang Plaza is located in the heart of the touristic area Bukit Pintang. 10 minutes walk to KLCC. Nice mall, many shops, restaurants, cafes, souvenirs and others. Easy to spend 2-3 hours.

I'm onto my third suit from this tailor in the last two years, and personally I think the quality and value are second to none. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this tailors to anyone. They are on level 1, and even if you don't have enough time, they will post your suit to you anywhere in the world, if you're really lucky, you get a beer while being measured up. Top class service.

We visited KL for 3 days recently and stayed at the federal Hotel, on Bukit Bintang. My 13 year old daugther, on her first trip overseas was a bit apprehensive of KL as it is less westernised and a bit 'dirtier' than Singapore, where we had spent the previous few days. Once she discovered Sungei Wang Plaza, her fears were quicly forgotton and she was in shoppers paradise. It's an older quirkier mall than some of the more modern ones like Starthill, Paramount, etc, but these others with the brand name stores are similar to what we can find everywhere in Australia. Sungei Wang is an ecclectic misx of small sops, where we bought Tailor made business clothing for me (at Page tailors), DVDs, Nintendo DS Games, SD cards, shoes for my daughters, other clothing, souveniers. Yes, get a map from the info desk, as it's very confusing. We seemed to live for hours in the one shopping centre. We ate at a little chinese restaurant (Paramount) on the 2nd floor where we were recommened by one of the shops where we bought stuff. A small chinese restaurants, serving mainly locals, but the food was absoluteley great and extremely cheap.

This shopping centre is a maze of stalls and colour – and is recommended by the locals. We had some shirts and trousers made at Page Tailors on Level 1 – and were very pleased with the quality. If you have the patience to hunt around, you can find some reasonably priced souvenirs and accessories. Make sure you pick up a map from the concierge desk as the layout is a bit confusing.

There are tons of malls in KL but most of which have high end designers and labels from floor to ceiling. Sungei Wang was a great find. It is packed with boutiques/ sole traders/ fakes/ bargains on everything from glasses, video games, t-shirts, dresses, shoes - whatever you want. The prices are very reasonable compared with other shopping to be had in KL and you can get some bargains compared to back home if you shop around. Its a fun place to shop with a good buzz and there is a great food court/ hawker centre with Chinese/ Malay food stalls at the top of the mall for a spot of cheap lunch. The plaza is well worth a visit for an hour or two!

Kuching, Malaysia
1. Is the food court cum kopitiam still operating at the top floor? If yes, how is the access there?
2. I remember after eating there, i used to do my shoppings at the kiosk and little shops on the tops floor. Are those kiosk/shops still operating? If yes, how to access there?
It has been a while since i go there. Your advice and answer are very much appreciated. Thanks a bunch
Regards
Edwin

Hi Edwin Then,
1. The Hawker Centre can be accessed using elevator service via Green Zone or Orange Zone. Alternatively, you may pay a visit to our FoodZania at 3rd Floor for a new dining area which consist of Food Truck, D'Food Caravanz and FoodCart.
2. The shopping kiosks and shops on our 6th Floor has been transformed to Education & Storage Hub.
Thank you.
