- Neko NadiBrisbane, Australia80 contributionsCheap!Out of all the malls in KL this was my favourite place. This mall had items dirt cheap. Recommend to look a around before buying as alot of the shops had repeat items for different prices. There is a guy near the nandos entrance of the mall that sells custom Keyrings he definitely deserves 5 stars. You choose a keyring or any of his leather items and he stamps a name you choose on it with gold, silver or a black stamp. The top floor has Anime shops with really cheap items.Visited January 2020Travelled with friendsWritten 4 January 2020

- Emmanuel NSydney, Australia4,129 contributionsAverage, and with MINI-Giant supermarketThis poor place has been easily overshadowed by all the other new malls springing up in Bukit Bintang. Pavilion, for instance, is the obvious choice to be, and not Sungei Wang. The only reason I came here was because it has Giant Supermarket, and yet it was such a SMALL, disappointing supermarket. This has got to be the smallest Giant Supermarket I have been to. tsk tsk. Not coming back to Sungei Wang ever again.Visited February 2020Written 11 February 2020

One of the legendary mall that still exists in KL golden triangle. The mall is under major upgrading works and to be completed in mid of 2021. Have plenty of good and cheap optical shop in Kuala Lumpur. You can make a good quality spectacle with half an hour. Most of the optical shop located at Lower Ground & Ground floor. Looking forward to revisiting again with Sungei Wang's new facelift soon.

Street food outlets and small pop up shops are now filling the area where Parkson Grand department store used to be aiming at a younger clientele. It maybe hard for businesses to survive in this central, but old mall as the lure of Bukit Bintang is now in the other end. If you need a quick fix for your phone help is here available.

Sungei Wang Plaza is one of many shopping centres in the shopping and entertainment district of Bukit Bintang. From the exterior, it looks like a tired old building in need of refurbishment. The interior looks much nicer though. There’s a decent food court here, so I could shop and eat without having to leave the shopping centre. The range of shops is pretty much the same as the other shopping centres around this area. That is, a mix of standard high street brands and local one man band type shops aimed at locals. I like this plaza more than the others in Bukit Bintang

First mall we visited on our first day in KL in our trip.
Deserted. Quiet. No crowd. We drank bubble tea n ate the cheesecakes from two shops in level 1. disappointed.
I bought one pair of hush puppies shoes n slippers.
I also bought a hand made comb with my name engraved on it.
We didn't even know that Bukit bintang plaza which were linked to it had been closed many years ago..... 😂 This shows how long we had last visited here.

1. Is the food court cum kopitiam still operating at the top floor? If yes, how is the access there?
2. I remember after eating there, i used to do my shoppings at the kiosk and little shops on the tops floor. Are those kiosk/shops still operating? If yes, how to access there?
It has been a while since i go there. Your advice and answer are very much appreciated. Thanks a bunch
Regards
Edwin

Hi Edwin Then,
1. The Hawker Centre can be accessed using elevator service via Green Zone or Orange Zone. Alternatively, you may pay a visit to our FoodZania at 3rd Floor for a new dining area which consist of Food Truck, D'Food Caravanz and FoodCart.
2. The shopping kiosks and shops on our 6th Floor has been transformed to Education & Storage Hub.
Thank you.

I heard the mall is going to close for renovation, is it true and when????
Nope, it is not closing. With the recent announcement of Bukit Bintang Plaza (known as BB Plaza) closure for redevelopment, Sungei Wang Plaza as the adjacent mall remains open to public from 10am to 10pm daily. In view of the connection between BB Plaza and Sungei Wang Plaza is closed, public is encouraged to access through our main entrance facing Jalan Sultan Ismail, secondary entrances at Jalan Bulan and monorail entrance at Level 1.
Kindly contact Customer Services at 03 - 21486109 for further details or like us on Facebook and follow us on instagram SungeiWangPlaza for more info on our events and promotions.
