The Orchestra hall is a perfect setting for the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra - enhanced last weekend by the beautiful Russian Ballet troupe that performed Gisselle. Everything about the experience was nice. We have seen other performances there and enjoyed them as well. It makes for a very special night out on the town. Two minor things to mention, however. It... More

Went to listen to a classical concert. The orchestra is just great, very international, surprisingly, many Hungarians on the team! :) The building, concert venue and accoustic is great. You have to make sure you dress up properly and give the respect for the program (business casual). Ladies, also be aware that they cool down the place a lot during... More

A fellow traveler advised us of a chamber music concert we were lucky enough to get tickets for. The venue was wonderful in design and a great place for listening. Weekday concerts are quite affordable. Located in the Petronas Towers Building it is easily accessible by public transportation. Their programs are quite inventive and even adventurous. We saw a group... More

Attended the MPO performance of Sibelius' Violin Concerto on 3rd October under the baton of Ciarån McAuley and featuring David Frühwirth on Violin. Great performance and wonderful hall, very ornate and with good acoustics. The other pieces at the concert were Sibelius En Saga, Neilsen Symphony No 1 and David Frühwirth played a shork Dvorak solo piece as an Encore... More

I have now been to see the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at least ten times. They have performed both beautiful classical and contemporary pieces when I have attended. Recently I watched them perform the music of Led Zeppelin and Queen, very nostalgic and yes this sixty plus man was up dancing in the aisles! The recent visit saw them perform... More

We found this to be brilliant considering it's free. The water show with the coloured lights started first followed by the orchestra playing in time to the water show. It was a great start to our evening.

Acoustics was fantastic. Visited on January 2015, performance "Carmen in dance" . Dewan Filharmonik is located in ground floor of Petronas, very convenient to reach from any Kuala Lumpur center hotel by a short walk

Went here to see the Mahler's symphony #2. The concert was awesome. A proper dress is a must. Too bad cannot take pictures.

Tickets are reasonable and the Concert Hall and resident Orchestra are World Class. I've brought some overseas visitors for some of the concerts and they were impressed. This new season, they are featuring world class Jazz, Singers & a Ballet Dancers. Don't miss it!

One or two travelers have mentioned the dress code, so here it is. Smart Casual - strictly no shorts, collarless T-shirts, singlets, sports attire, sports shoes or slippers at any time. For gala concerts it's lounge suit or long-sleeved batik (local shirt). No so onerous really, I generally wear decent looking jeans and a long sleeved shirt. It's worth the... More
