the elephant santuary is a bit far out of KL, but if you can go there it is worth with, it is not a zoo but a real place where they rescue elephants, so your fee is actually going to do some good . batu cave is nice , close to town, well worth it, and not expensive, which is good cause a lot of places in KL are ripping off tourists

DANCES of Malaysia: A Review A smaller production at the Cultural Center of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. June 2019 I must have been very unfortunate last summer not to attend the one at the Grand Hall. When I asked DoubleTree Hilton about the best possible places to see the traditional dances, they immediately suggested the one at the Cultural Center. It was at 7 and food was ready both at the entrance and in the hall. There were a few people dressed in traditional costume ushering strangers and guests, some suggesting a picture or a selfie with them. For 130 ringits (approximately US $ 32.5), it was a bit of a disappointment, Expensive for a smaller audience and a smaller production as well. I was not very impressed with ambiance and the food presentation although they did taste delicious; I had 2 plates full. They had a variety of dishes to choose from and some ice-cream for dessert. Then the dances, I could recall only about 4 numbers, with NO printed program at hand for the guests to read. It would have been great if they had some background knowledge of each dance before watching it. The dances were beautiful, but sometimes hard to appreciate. The stage managers used a kaleidoscope of moving colors and shapes as background to compliment these dances. Quite a distraction I think, it took the attention away from the dancers. I did like the interactive part when the guests were invited by the host to try a dance number on two bamboo poles. I didn't dig that, but ladies from Iran and China just went for it. The finale? Well, you get up close with the dancers for a group photo and some selfies, nice one for Facebook/ Instagram travels. Just a bit of advice perhaps; should you ever sign up for cultural shows and dances. Check out the one in the Grand Hall instead. It’s 50 ringits more, but it’s probably better. The smaller production is NOT really worth it.
