The Kun Yam Thong Temple is a short walk from the Petronas Towers.
It is a Chinese Buddhist Temple.
The temple is ornately decorated. At the time of my visit, there were a few worshippers in the temple. At the entrance was a golden coloured statue of a Buddha.
There is a canteen that serves vegetarian meals.
It is worth a visit. The temple is next to a bus stop.

Tucked away behind the temple is an open-style kitchen serving vegetarian food. It's a self-serving concept, like a buffet line. Grab a plate, scoop some rice, and pile on the dishes. Then head over to the cashier to pay. My plate of rice with 4 different sides/lauk, plus a cup of drink, came up to RM7 (~AUD2.50).
After you are done eating, place your dirty plate and utensils in the basket provided.
Simple, cheap, yet scrumptious vegetarian food.
Entrance into Temple seems to be for locals (for prayers) only.

It was my second visit to the temple. Whenever I visit the temple, I feel peaceful. This is a must-go when you are in Kuala Lumpr!

On 24th February late morning, my Malaysian Chinese friend took me to the temple. The day happened to be the Chinese New Year of certain group of Chinese. The eve of the new Year was marked by continuous fire crackers previous night that lasted for 15 minutes each time, I think in the KLCC area.
I always wanted to go to local Buddhist temple in Malaysia where Chinese have devotion and this place fit my bill perfectly. From my Chinese friend, I heard their believe about Buddhas and Deities in the temple that aren’t necessarily mine, but I enjoyed how a same religion in different parts of the world could be different and perhaps this is the beauty manifested by cultural differences.
Being the new year, devotees sat and attentively listened to the preaching, wished I had time for it. But I treasure my brief time in the temple. Thanks to my Chinese friend who generously accompanied me there.

It was a short visit but it gave us a lot of positive energy. Many people were praying and I think the visit was of high value.

To get to this temple, it's just a short walk from ampang park LRT. Alternatively, you can take the green line of the Go KL Bus, alighting at the second last stop, just before KLCC. Possible to walk from KLCC, although it's a little far, should be 10-15 minutes. What makes this temple stand out, firstly, is its excellent canteen, which has delicious vegetarian food. Next, there are many books available about Buddhism, which are interesting and extensive if you're devout buddhists or just wish to know more about buddhism. Admission and books are both free of charge. Do donate a token sum to the temple, if you wish to. As one with parents who are devout buddhists, this attraction is a permanent fixture on my KL Itinerary.

Nearby KLCC. Beautiful and peaceful temple. There's a canteen behind the temple serving vegetarian meals at a very reasonable price. Great variety. Friendly vendors.

This temple , though being lively and well maintained , is quite small ! Interesting to visit only if you ave never seen a temple before !!!
If you happen to pass by have a quick look (2-3 minutes)... and move on !

Visited the temple and there is a vegetarian meal canteen! The veg meal canteen was a pleasant surprise for me as I am a vegetarian. The temple is just a few minutes from petronas towers in Jalan Ampang. It is a Chinese Buddhist temple.

Not so tourist friendly, but we were there with prayer purpose. We asked the smiley petite aunty if we could just sit down and meditate for 15 minutes on our own. She said yes but the temple closes at 4 pm.
There’s a dhamma book session (English and Chinese) on the left of the main entrance. You can borrow or get the book with donation for printing fund which is cool.
After the meditation we took some incense sticks and were guided by a kind aunty on where to pray and to put the sticks.
The place didn’t have as much of mystical spiritual feeling as some other temples we went to, but surely it has the sense of good-heart community, faith, and sacredness which you can totally feel when you first set foot in here.
