Roxas Boulevard is a popular waterfront promenade in Manila in the Philippines. The boulevard, which runs along the shores of Manila Bay, is well-known for its sunsets and stretch of coconut trees. The divided roadway has become a trademark of Philippine tourism, famed for its yacht club, hotels, restaurants, commercial buildings and parks. Originally called Cavite Boulevard, it was renamed Dewey Boulevard in honor of the American Admiral George Dewey, who under his command defeated the Spanish navy in the Battle of Manila Bay in 1898. The boulevard was again renamed to Heiwa Boulevard in late 1941 during Japanese Home Rule and Roxas Boulevard in the 1960s to honor President Manuel Roxas, the fifth president of the Republic of Philippines.

The arcing road runs in a north-south direction from Rizal Park in Manila and ends in Parañaque at the intersection of Ninoy Aquino International Airport Road. However, the most popular points along the Boulevard can be found along a 3-kilometer stretch, whose endpoints are bounded by Rizal Park and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. In between those two points can be found the Manila Yacht Club, Manila Ocean Park and the US Embassy.

The Boulevard where you may reminisce and/or reflect where are you at in your life's perspective. If you are around this area, schools, chapels, park, restaurants, hotels, are just around the corner. Nothing much to do here, really.

This boulevard that runs along Manila Bay takes you to a lot of the best places of Manila. Admittedly I was only there for a short time, about a week in all, but I spent most of it along this road that takes you to the Mall of Asia, the US Embassy, Robinson Mall, World Trade Center. Lots of places... More

People complain about the traffic here, quick solution, get out and walk! Imagine if Sydney had a waterside road from the Quay to Double Bay, that's Roxas Boulevard. It has waterfront parks, museums and views, but, of course, most tourists here don't get out of their buses and hire cars and LOOK. It is one of the best things left... More

Roxas Boulevard is a popular waterfront promenade home to the famous and stunning sunsets of Manila and a strip that deserves more attention. The vast bay water and sunsets are beautiful! You certainly cannot enjoy sunsets in every country as you can in Manila along Manila Bay.

This is the main beach front road,to be honest, it is much cleaner than when I was there last year, not so many homeless on the street. It is nice to walk down but the bay is filled with rubbish, but everyone you meet is friendly and you never feel unsafe

It is only a road. Nothing to see. While in the car with our guide, he showed us a sign to show the road name.
