Lots of great artisan shops before you get to the castle. The copper and Turkish lamp shops are just great. The castle itself provided some breathtaking views of Ankara on clear days... I suggest spring and summer for the clearest views.

Not impressive. We expect more than few walls and inside places with very bad smell. The old houses from around are nice.

The castle (or better the citadel) of Ankara has a small village within its walls. The citadel has a nice birth view over the city of Ankara. It has small streets and nice tea houses.

This very old castle, dating back to the Roman, Seljuk, and Ottoman Empire, is located on a hill, with superb views on the city. Entrance free Careful, no barriers, risk to fall!
