This fort was used for so many different times and reasons, it oozes with history. The displays and audios are quite touching, for every age. Our youngest was 6 and enjoyed it as much as us grandparents.

This is a gem. The exhibits are very well done and interactive. It is a great place for all ages. You may want to have a jacket and hat for it can be very windy.

We stopped at the Fort to get a little bit of history of the south! It was beautiful and clean! Inside there was a movie telling about the Fort. It was a hot day, so it was a nice air conditioned break! After the movie,...More

We went on a very cold windy day and enjoyed the stop. It is a free attraction, a combination of both inside and outside viewing spots. We visited on New Years Eve and they were having live music and a cannon firing. We didn’t stay...More

I'm not sure. They are doing a beach erosion project with piping sand from the Fort Macon beach a mile or do down towards Atlantic Beach using large pipes. This is just a guess. Best thing to do is call the park
