This was a very nice place to pass some time (a little over an hour) and learn some history of the fort. I thought everything was very well presented.

What a great experience. Fort Macon is definitely a great place to check out. The structure of the fort is amazing and the history is fascinating. Great place to enjoy alone or with your family.

I've been going here for years and I love it! Even during holiday weekends it hasn't been very crowded and you can't beat free parking.

Glad we went early and had no problem finding a parking space. The beach was very nice and dog friendly (on leash). We enjoyed the day.

To my knowledge there is no place to dock a boat to go and visit the fort. The Coast Guard base is on one side and open beach on the other with no dock.
