Came to finish off my OW SCUBA. Visibility was very limited when I went, but there are plans to clear it up. I will return to get a better view of the sunken items (airplane... read more

They people at Athens Scuba Park are very helpful and nice to visit with. The diving is good for navigation practice and dialing in buoyancy. The visibility was 8 ft the two days I was there. There are no fish to see. I found a crawdad skeleton and the was the extent of the underwater wildlife. There are plenty of... More

We dove ASP and had a great time. Visibility was poor (10' or so) the day we visited but we still managed just fine as this is the norm for Texas lake diving. The thermocline was pretty intense that day too with temps ranging from approx. 85-70 degrees. Depths were a bit of an issue for us as we were... More

This is one of the premier dive training spots in Texas. Clear deep water with lots of training activities to fit all level of diver. Good for beginning divers on to the experience you want to achieve. My son started there,as a novice and is now a dive master working on his instructor. Check out the park you will be... More

My son and I went diving at Athens Scuba Park this past Sunday and had a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, Shannon and Alex were cheerful and provided attentive service as we rented our gear. The visibility was an average of 14 feet and we were able to see just about everything. The entire experience was relaxing and... More

This dive lake is built where an old brick factory was and so the bottom of the lake, which is filled by a fresh spring, is a very fine clay silt. If you get within inches of the bottom the white silt billows up and the entire lake is soon in white-out conditions. We had to try three times to... More

We come to Athens Scuba Park once or twice a year to go diving -- the people who run it are always so nice to us and it makes the long drive from Austin worth it. Athens has had a LOT of rain, so the water wasn't clear yet like it usually is, and we'll come back when it clears... More

After doing my open water class at Terrell, which is not a very nice place, a few friends of mine wanted to go check out Athens Scuba Park. This place is located about 70 miles or so from Dallas which is not bad for me being in Fort Worth. The place is very cool in my opinion. They have over... More

Came to finish off my OW SCUBA. Visibility was very limited when I went, but there are plans to clear it up. I will return to get a better view of the sunken items (airplane, houseboat, bus, etc). Overall the place can be very attractive and accessible.

Second time we've been here but the visibility was extremely poor both times. Three feet max maybe. The water temps were crazy with it being 90 at the surface and 68 at 15 ft. The folks running the park are exceptionally nice. I had a bad computer battery and a blown O ring on a hose and Calvin fixed both... More
