Pool is very crowded on weekends and parking is a nightmare. However, the pool is very refreshing on steamy summer days. Line to get in can take 30 minutes to navigate but the people watching is unparalleled. The main building, dressing room and restrooms need a face lift.

We visited Barton Springs while on a family vacation to TX. I had researched some local attractions and "must sees" and this was all over the lists. It was July and hotter than Hades out, so a cool dip in the spring was the perfect way to find relief from the heat! The initial jump in is sort of a... More

We left our hotel at 6:45am to get to the pool before 8am (when you have to start paying)so we could have a quick dip and leave to go to Dallas. It was supposed to be a 25 minute trip. Due to horrendous traffic, we got to the ticket window at 8:01am and the surly guy wanted us to pay... More

Unfortunately we didn't know about this natural spring pool in Austin so didn't bring our bathing gears here. But this is truly a great place for the locals to come and hangout, especially during the hot summer days. What a cool place to chill for an hour or two. There is also a small exhibit on the water and its... More

This is a pride for all Austinites, a place equally popular amongst locals as well as tourists. Considered to the largest natural swimming pool in Texas, this is open all year and is fed through natural spring water where the water temperature remains constant around 68 degrees F.

I think Barton Springs Pool is a must visit. Great experience. I have done it a few time. Water is very cold, because it's constantly fed with natural springs, but it's nice. Plenty of places to swim around even when it's crowded, which is often. Parking can be tricky. They have hill sides to sit or lay out. One diving... More

I love this place. I love you swim here, lay under the trees, walk up the road and get some juice at Juice Land. This place is an institution. It should be preserved for when the aliens come to study us. They will take a dip and let us live. Keep on, Barton Springs. Keep on.
