I really loved this museum, $5 - $11 students to general admission but it was free Thursday, so I bought a membership in appreciation. I love to join museums when on vacation, as I get the news and magazines for a year to remind me of good times. Very nice exhibits, I really loved the renaissance chalk painting exhibit!! I... More

My wife is such a museum buff that she can literally pause to examine every item on exhibit and read its information. I'm pretty enthusiastic about museums myself and the Blanton is one of our favorites. In our last visit the highlight was Brooklyn-based artist Nina Katchadourian's exhibit entitled "Curiouser". My own words are wholly inadequate to describe the artist's... More

Was amazed by the place. Didn't really expect much from a 'University' museum. Building is just beautiful. Don't expect the 'star power' artwork of NYC but the collection is delightful, and in a very very pleasant environment. The 'show' when I was there -Nina Katchdourian- was one of the most energizing and thought provoking I've seen in a long time.... More

We really enjoyed the excellent collection at the Blanton Museum of Art. We particularly enjoyed the works on paper, especially the collection depicting scenes from Paradise Lost. We spent our time in the European and Latin American sections and greatly appreciated both. A great way to spend an afternoon.

A wonderful experience with many examples of various periods of artists and their works. We had a personal tour by one of the curators.

This lovely building houses works by many well known artists, but they are lesser known and overall the place is a very nice diversion, but not world class as the locals like to say. The Remington work is large and terrific & it's fun to see works by the famous folks, but the wow factor was just not there.

This museum is divided into art periods and has a nice collection within each period. But, it is relatively small and nothing to our way of thinking really stands out. If you have some free time in Austin to while away you may consider this.

Located on the UT campus, this place is for the most part easy to get to. There is a parking garage nearby for your car and the walk to the museum is only a few minutes. This two story building features several styles of artwork. There are sections which focus on religion, late 1700's to 1800's, Greek statues, and rotating... More
