A great place to hike & talk! Not too terribly difficult, so it's a nice leisurely hike. Dogs can run loose & the stream is nice to wade through to wash your feet off if you're like me & always wearing Chacos :) Definitely recommend!

What I love about this place is that the river is right there and anyone is able to jump in! Coming here with family or friends is what made me love this spot, highly recommend anyone trying to just come or camp to come here.

This is a fine place to get a way for a day trip. A big man made lake with fishing allowed. A nice relaxing time by a lake. Very pleasant setting.

As I see some others have mentioned, there are mostly dog walkers on this trail, or have been the two times I have been on it. However, everyone seemed to get along and have their dogs under control if off leash. The trail itself was...More

We visited the Turkey Creek Trail in the Emma Long Park because it's dog friendly -- so much so that dogs are allowed off leash. So if you bring your dog, be sure he/she is friendly and not aggressive to humans or other dogs as...More

I reserved a tent camping spot for a Saturday, but we may not arrive to the park until late morning or early afternoon. Do you think it will be so crowded by then, that they will close the gates and not allow any more cars in?

I'd say yes. Go check the Texas parks and wildlife webpage, but its not a state park, so I'd say yes.
