Beautiful place to visit. Love the view. For people who may have problems going up the steps, park at the north end of the parking lot and you will find a path that takes you around and allows you to get to the peak without...More

You can see the entire skyline of Austin! From North of the University of Texas, to St. Edwards in South Austin! My favorite thing to do is try to remember all of the building's names!

Take the time to view Austin from the top of mount bonnel. The vegetation is a little overgrown as mentioned in other reviews, but if you walk the path, there are many spots to stop and see the fantastic views. It is worth the trip.

We enjoyed our short hike to the top of Mt. Bonnell, with an elevation 775 feet above sea level, and beautiful view at the top. There are two ways to go--one like a rocky hiking trail, and the other resembles steps out of native stone....More

The trees are blocking the view of the river, which is a huge bummer. That is the main reason to be here.

Just a short drive, just outside the city; easy to get to. Worth a quick stop for the view and picture op. Nice some nice history of the area at the top. Will have to walk about 100 stone steps from roadside parking up to...More

Nice view, easy and short walk, family friendly. One of the best places in Austin. Street park is super easy surprisingly. Probably because there's no restrooms around...

I've hiked Mount Bonnell at least 3 times in the last few years. There is a LOT of steps up (secret, it's always easier going down). The views at the top make it worth it, from the Austin skyline to fancy homes at the bottom....More

Yes. They have picnic tables & trash cans there in assorted areas but be prepared for a few people passing by & possibly asking for a bite of food!

Not long at all, maybe ten or fifteen minutes. It's not really a trail, just a set of steps up to the top from the parking area. It's absolutely worth doing, though, because its the best view in Austin.
