The website states "No Cover" for bands playing at the restaurant. They do not spell out that restaurant and dance hall are separate and there is a cover ($12). Nowhere on the event page do they mention a cover charge. Why not be upfront? Again,...More

One in our group was burning to hear some real Texas country music (when in Rome…) so we went to the Broken Spoke. Cover: $12 cash per person, optional dance class before the band started: $8 cash. The old western style ranch building was sandwiched...More

My wife and I went there because of all the good reviews. Had a great chat with the owners son-in-law who was tending bar when we got there. Lots of interesting stories. Then it was downhill all the way. Want a decent beer? Tough luck....More

Can’t believe this place is on the top 10 things to do in Austin. I would think that the $15 per person cover charge for a packed dance floor could be used to update the building and bathrooms. Women’s toilet has 3, curtain covered, too...More

I hope I can save at least one person from wasting their night and their money. If you're from out of town and want an authentic Texan dance hall experience, go to Gruene. Go to Billy Bob's in FW. Heck, nearly any small town in...More

Great place to get dance lessons and try out the dance floor. Great casual atmosphere and a good mix of beginner and expert dancers. Only negative was people standing on the dance floor taking up space and crowding the dancers.

Yes, $20.00per person for dance lessons, from a rude condescending witch, it was a rip off. I was with a group of 5 people, only 4 were taking dance lessons. The 5th person was going to sit with our purses and have a... More
