This was on my last day in Austin and I had heard so much about the SoCo district I figured I would give it a shot. I was staying in the Hyatt Regency just north of it but I drove my jeep down to southern...More

If you have a few free hours the SOCO District is the place to go. Lot's of interesting shops with locally made quality items - jewelry, clothing, crafts and more. Many interesting restaurants with outdoor seating and fun people watching. It is also the place...More

I would recommend going just to check out some of tthe interesting and quaint stores and boutiques there. You will find vintage clothing stores, jewelry by local artists, restaurants with local flavours. However after visiting a few boutiques I find that the offerings are more...More

Cool Shops, Good eats! This area seemed to take us into "Old Austin" where maybe not too much has changed over the year. Hippie, Electic... Austin!

SoCo keeps Austin quirky but didn't appeal to my shopping taste. Some boutique style shops with expensive unique tops, a cool costume shop, some jewelry shops, restaurants and gift shops. Not particularly attractive but unique in its own way.

Parking is very hard to find. You may have to park down the street and walk. If you are staying downtown, take a cab (I believe Uber is being discontinued in Austin). Getting there early in the day is better for parking... More
