While in town for a conference I took colleagues here for a late evening bite. Everything we ordered was delicious-- but pricey. Highlights were the squash bisque, wedge salad with pork belly (!), and Brussels sprouts side. Glad we took time to walk around the bar and lobby -- lots of cool Austin and Texas history.

What a beautiful, historic hotel. As you walk the winding hallways, beautiful art is displayed prominently throughout. The room I reserved was not available so I was upgraded to a junior suite complete with its own balcony with a view of 6th st. Gorgeous room. I also rented a meeting room which was very nice. Great location within walking distance... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but stopped into see the beautiful historic building. We ended up coming back twice, as the bar has great cocktails and interesting atmosphere. It is a great place to spend time after sightseeing, while waiting for evening music to start at the bars. The Driscoll bar appetizers are great. We liked the spicy sweet... More

We stayed here for one night in the smallest/cheapest room available. It had everything you need for one night stay when you don't plan to be in the room often. The room itself was clean but small (as advertised). The walls were thin so you could hear other guests, but I guess that's what you get when you stay at... More

This hotel is one of the best in Austin. Right on 6th, you can visit all the hot spots. However, at night, take their car to 4th or 5th - it's safer and you can catch some awesome live music. We stayed in the Cattle Baron's Suite and it's very nice - has a dining room, refrigerator, fireplace in the... More

Awful experience last week at the Driskill. On a positive note: staff was friendly and did tey to accomodate us. Check in was very quick at 2am. First night in the new section was fine, although room could have done with a good cleaning. The drinks in the minibar were covered in something white, like melted ice cream. Because we... More

We stayed nearby and wanted to visit this historic site for drinks. It was located on 6th street down the street from all the famous bars and restaurants. There was construction on the exterior but the inside was well appointed with wood panels, and other artifacts. We were fortunate to experience the Christmas decoration with a majestically decorated tree which... More
