A garden space so beautifully planned to show the stark beauty of dormancy with only a hint of spring to keep us watching for hidden blooms.

We were married at Zilker and have been back several times since then and it keeps offering more and more to see. The last time we went, we got several ideas for our home gardens that have worked really well. The paths are well-laid out,...More

My comments are based upon a visit in December: if time is short in Austin, The Zilker wouldn't be a priority for me. I would return when blooms are in season when perhaps the property might be better polished. The Japanese Garden is the singular...More

I recently went here while I was visiting Austin. It is a beautiful and relaxing spaced. We spent about 2 hours walking through the park and that was plenty of time.

The highlights of this garden are the Japanese Garden and the Pre-historic section. Does not have a great variety of plants, though has an interesting cactus section.

Spent out 1 hour here in October. Alot is packed into garden. I consider it worth the admission cost. When stuff is blooming, definitely would be more scenic. Good garden to visit if in the Austin area.

Zilker Botanical Garden is a great place to wander amongst nature. We saw beautiful flowers, plentiful butterflies and even a water snake! Really lovely way to spend a quiet afternoon.

Wasn't expecting a lot at this ( senior discount ) price but it was an excellent experience. Especially liked the oriental and primitive gardens. Just a wonderful place to wander around for an hour. Nice vistas of the city skyline too. Well worth the trip.

While there are no picnic tables, I doubt that anyone on staff will tell you to get out if they see you eating. Definitely no fires.
