I loved seeing the peacocks, the lily ponds, the gardens. The hiking trails were well defined, quiet, peaceful.

This is a lovely stop off when visiting the contemporary art museum. Spring is especially good, with newly blooming gardens & resident peacocks in mating displays!

Took my 3 and 6 yr old for a monring hike, they loved all the paths between the trees and down to the creeks, they could even jump on the rocks to cross the creek. We ended with a walk in the Cottage grounds between the gorgeous peacocks, very entertaining. Be careful when you drive in the parking lot because... More

We were driving down from very crowded Mount Bonnell, close to sunset, when we happened upon Mayfield. Perhaps because it was so late in the day, there were very few people around, but plenty of peacocks! We didn't have time to check out the trails (and judging by other reviews here, we didn't have proper footwear, either). But we wandered... More

Peacocks abound o the property, but the park is hard-to-find, We came early in the morning just before opening hours. We were walking thru the info grounds as their is no apparent organized tours or guides. It is a pleasant, quiet, shady space with some uneven walkways throughout the grounds. There is plenty of parking, Try and discern the hours... More

This is a fun place to visit. You can see over a dozen peacocks roaming the grounds, flying into the trees and roosting on the pergola beside the house. One guy fanned out his tail as a female strolled by, but she didn’t seem as impressed as we were by his display. Paths wind through ornamental garden plots which are... More

If you're just going to see the peacocks they are in the garden to the left of the parking lot. We went on a Saturday afternoon and found parking in their lot and it was free. There are several trails that you can get through quick if needed. Suitable for taking children but the trails are uneven so not suitable... More

Great place to go and relax. Nice historical buildings there. Peacocks and wildlife are super cool. Walk around the trails a bit to get a good "feel" of the place. You'll love what you see!

My daughter recommended this peaceful park to me. It is a wonderful park with peacocks and ponds. I recommend it to anyone for respite from the busy city life. The peacocks do talk to you.

My wife and I visited Mayfield Park with two of our grandkids. They couldn't believe that over a dozen male peacocks were loose on the grounds and strutting their stuff. There were also a number of peacock hens including white ones. We love this quiet and beautiful park. Great for picnics, strolls, hiking to Lake Austin, and photographing the fantastic... More
