This theater is the Diamond of Abingdon. It is a beautiful theater which has been around much longer than I have been. The actors are first class, I have been to many theaters in many states and found this to be as good as any...More

Had a good time with kids-teens watching a play at the Barter recently. Saw the play on their smaller Stage II this time. It is a very different experience than seeing something on the main stage. Both are good experiences.

Didn't want to miss Barter Days where you can take food in exchange for a ticket just like the old days. They do this every year in June to celebrate the anniversary of the Barter Theatre. Throughly enjoyed the Savannah Sipping Society play recently at...More

Saw Footloose and was amazed by the talent of the cast. The sets were amazing and changed almost without anyone knowing it happened. The cast received a standing ovation and it was well deserved.

We saw the production of "Footloose" at the Barter Theater and were very impressed with the staging and talent. The theater is not overly large, so it seems like any seat would have a decent view. Seats are comfortable, and patrons can purchase wine, beer,...More

We were lucky to be in town for one of the first performances of Footloose. What a treat! The performance was entertaining and lively. There were very few empty seats and it was easy to see why.

We enjoyed "Savannah Sipping Society" matinee at Stage II on Saturday 5/27/17. We had previously attended the musical "Big Fish" last year at the main stage. This is as good as NYC Broadway. Downtown area is convenient to hotels, restaurants, and shops. Be mindful that...More
