This was a great way to escape the rain on a saturday morning. The artists were all very friendly and there were many very diverse types of art available. I strongly recommend visiting the archeology museum while you are there. The volunteer guide was so welcoming and interesting. Great way to spend some time out of the rain!

There are probably 60 or more local artists who have their studios in the Torpedo Factory. They represent many types of art including jewelry, painting, photography, sculpture, weaving, and many others. Prices are reasonable and it is a great location right on the Old Town Alexandria waterfront.

Such a great variety of arts and crafts. Very, very enjoyable. Some stuff very reasonably priced, so it is a great place to shop for gifts!

This is a great attraction with many artists under 1 roof. The only reason I am giving it a 3 out of 5 is because it is not very kid friendly. It would much more enjoyable without kids.

What an interesting collection of art displayed throughout. We were pleasantly surprised to enjoy a variety of stores and galleries. This is worth a stop. Better, linger a little longer.

Fascinating locale was a Navy torpedo manufacturer during the First & Second World Wars. Small, interesting exhibit on this. Today it's home to dozens of painters, sculptors, arts & crafts specialists working live in their studios before your eyes. To its rear is the Alexandria waterfront, filled with street artists during good weather, and good restaurants all-weather. To its front... More

The largest open studio center in the US, this is a great place to wander through admiring a broad range of art from local artists, many of whom are around to speak with you and share their thoughts and stories.

Manufacturing torpedoes for WWI and WWII, this converted factory now houses a large group of small artist stores where you want engage in and watch these talented artists create. Throughout the art center are historical photos and information about the munitions and at least two torpedoes are displayed. Upstairs is the city’s historical office/display.
