Perfect place for a stroll or a walk on a crazy day or a lazy day, the waterfront has restaurants, a gallery and lots of great food.

The place is peppered with fine restaurants. It is a very romantic place to visit especially during the evenings. Bring someone you love there and he/she will enjoy it. Don't forget to bring your mom there at least once if possible.

I enjoyed the waterfront in both the day and night times and during winter. I had never heard the sound of lapping ice water and found it to be very beautiful even though it was cold out. During the night, it was an incredible place...More

NIce combination of waterfront parks, restaurants and small shops and a few tourist attractions. Well maintained and safe in a historic old Virgina neighborhood along the Potomac river

We enjoyed our walk along the waterfront section of Old Town Alexandria. There were several street performers and food vendors along the way. We had views across the water and saw many boats cruising the river. It's a pleasant place to spend an evening.

Look into boat trips along the Potomac or eat at the Chart House right at the waterfront. Either way you won't be disappointed.

One day should be enough to visit Alexandria. Consider use of the yellow or blue line Metro exiting at the King Street Metro since parking can be difficult. The King Street metro area is icky, but if you like to walk to the... More
